China’s first AI-generated theatrical feature has flopped, earning just $181,000 in its first weekend. By contrast, the scrappy ‘Niu Lai’ turned its crude animation into a viral attraction, grossing nearly $10 million a couple of months ago. www.cartoonbrew.com/box-office-r...

This is a fun little project I finally wrapped up - visited the Archive this summer with @pc98audi.bsky.social and made a video on that experience.

DF Retro returns! In this latest episode, @dark1x.bsky.social visits the Embracer Games Archive, home to over 80,000 objects: a massive physical games archive and a fantastical retro hardware collection. Want a peek inside? youtu.be/7gWuL_RkxCw

A rare feat for me to be utterly disinterested in what apparently are the two biggest movies of the year. Glad others like them, but neither held even the mildest appeal for me.

If you love action trash cinema, Punisher: War Zone is on AMC+. The villains are great (with a magnificently unhinged performance by Doug Hutchison) and, because director Lexi Alexander is a martial artist, the combat is hard, fast, and mean.

The Devils (1971). You can only make something this obscene, this blasphemous, this beyond the pale if your fear and love of God is this genuine and absolute. Which is why among the many things The Devils is, is a more profound work of religious art than anything Angel Studios will ever cough up.

You know you've watched a lot of @seanseanson.bsky.social videos when you see that first image and think it's a monster from a Cryo Interactive game.

An abundance of colour and pattern characterises this mid #1860s bodice from shadowy leaves to garlands of flowers. It is almost easier to appreciate it in isolation, separate from its skirt, the details somehow more impactful as a solo piece #V_and_A #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

working at a retro game/record shop and seeing the number of kids, middle school to college age, who come in for old games and stuff *specifically* because they are sick of ads, subscriptions, digital licenses, etc has given me more hope for the future than any politician ever has

Wrote a thing about how it doesn't really matter whether Zuck shut down the No Kings Insta on purpose or if it was an accident. The problem is relying on him in the first place. www.techdirt.com/2026/10/20/a...

Anyways, it's clear enough Democrats have come out as anti-trans now that we have a serious risk of bipartisan anti-trans legislation happening So I advise you to vote against all these Democrats

For the third year, @consumerreports.org has investigated how smart home companies handle security vulnerabilities and those who report them. The good news—84% of 80 manufacturers provide security researchers with an easy-to-find method to contact them to report security vulnerabilities.

Remember, you are a rare gift. There's only a few people in this world that ever get to meet you and know you. Out of the billions on earth, the few that get to know you are among the luckiest people alive.
