We're very proud of this release! We will soon publish a paper on it as well, stay tuned!

We just released Git Truck version 4.0.0! What’s new: 🐾 Explore contributor footprints across your codebase 📊 Visualize project history with a revamped commit timeline, 👥 Auto-group duplicate contributors 🏎️ Enjoy better cache handling and performance. See the release notes for more! git.new/gtv4

npmjs.com is critical JS infrastructure, not a side project. Wild that microslop shipped a half-assed, vibe-coded dark mode, with poor contrast, making README code blocks impossible to read. IMO this is a stewardship problem, not just a bad UI tweak. @npmx.dev could not have had better timing!

I'm looking for sponsors for Valibot and Formisch. If either library is part of your companies stack and you want to partner on what's next, my DMs are open.

Big week: we officially moved into our new NY office 🗽 Now the fun part begins. I'm starting to build our engineering team from the ground up, and we're looking for talented software engineers who get excited about hard problems, tight loops, and shipping real things fast.

Git Truck v3.3 is here! 🚀 We’ve overhauled the categorical metrics for deeper codebase insights: - Select categories to highlight specific authors or file types in the visualization. - Dynamic Legend that only shows visible entries when zooming. ...and more!

Let us know what you think of the new version and if you experience any issues!

🔎 Search has also been overhauled, with clearer highlighting of matching files and improved visuals. ⚡ The repository browser has been rebuilt from the ground up. It loads much faster and adds new sorting and filtering options to help you find what you’re looking for. 👀 …and plenty more!

🎨 This update brings a polished new interface and a lot of behind-the-scenes work. For one, Git Truck is now powered by @vite.dev, helping keep the truck running smooth and fast on the long term.

📊 The visualization has seen many improvements, including clearer colors and dynamically positioned labels. ⏱️ The time range selector now matches the rest of the interface and includes new ways to select and reset the interval.

How to bypass minimum dependency/release age: 1. Publish an npm package with an unpinned git dependency. 2. Get usage and wait many months. 3. Push a malicious commit to the git dependency's repo.

I've released my first Go application! It's a (very basic) terminal video editor that uses ffmpeg and whisper to let you selectively choose which lines from a video you want to keep. You can also preview each line with a pop-up video player! It's called tsplice:

This is CSS performance problem I see all too often. The React website has some jank due due to their use of transition. Here is how to find what causes it and how and fix it

Have you tried the integrated terminal suggestions feature in VS Code? It gives you lightning-fast completions, like dynamic branch suggestions or path navigation. Available via the "terminal.integrated.suggest.enabled" setting (enabled by default in Insiders)

Everyone: No, GitHub Desktop is better! No, VS Code! Me: ...I just use `git add -p`. Walks you through each change, hunk for hunk, and lets you accept with `y`. It’s like a mini code review before you commit. Pair that with dandavison/delta, and you get syntax highlighting too 👀

SVG filters provide a basic lighting system you can sync with a little JavaScript and use in your web apps 💡 ... not as powerful as MacOS implementation but pretty cool

Så var der endelig noget der skulle fixes :) Det er længe siden der har været noget sidst. Sønnens gaming mus stoppede spontant med at virke. Helt død, mid-game, katastrofe! Noget må gøres! En repair-tråd fx 🧵 1/14

Sonda v0.8 is here, and it's the biggest release to date. It introduces a new UI that makes it easier to inspect and visualize large projects. It also displays more information about assets, inputs, external dependencies, and import relationships. Demo and details below 👇

🌠 A long-requested CSS feature is the ability to transition height between a known value (`height: 20rem`) and a derived one (`height: auto`). A new global CSS property makes this possible now. 😄 html { interpolate-size: allow-keywords; } More info in thread 🧵

You are up to date.
