By day I'm a producer in the games industry, happily making little spreadsheets and Gantt charts, and by night I improvise nonsense or wander around stage with a microphone.

My next nail appointment is the day before I head to #AdventureX. Which means I could get AdventureX themed nails. I don't know what they would look like. But it's an option.

BETRAYED BY MY OWN FACE Got this message from a promoter after a gig last night. I think I'm generally quite an autistically neutral person but apparently if you do edgelord comedy near me my face will set off a beacon visible from Cornwall.

I love when people get things wrong but are earnestly trying to do right, I find it really sweet. I met an older woman recently who excitedly told me about a friend of mine that "she's the first they I've met!" Like bless you you are trying and it is wonderful.

I'm curious as to what was happening behind the scenes to make them push Freddie Meredith so hard, to the extent that it felt like people like Fouracres or Bambgboye were barely in it.

Also, and this is an issue I had with a show of his I saw too, Paddy Young is too pretty to do jokes about how undesirable he is. Why do they keep trying to do that.

I do think Weekend Update needs to lay off the edge a little. Too many rape jokes, or punching down on people's appearance rather than their actions, it just sort of sucks. When they target correctly they're brilliant, when they're silly they're brilliant, this just leaves a bad taste.

I stepped on a dead rat on the way home tonight so whoever Britain's Corvo Attano is please do some low chaos things the environmental storytelling is getting out of hand.

Like on this, did you know that I can't wear too nice a dress on stage? If I go above a certain level of fanciness people stop laughing at the jokes. Same set, completely different response. It's fascinating.

One of the things I have really been enjoying with comedy is slowly figuring out who I am on stage, discovering my voice. Maybe I can write a good joke, but it doesn't work with the personality I have on stage. Maybe I need to use a different word or reference. It's genuinely fascinating.

I cannot imagine giving that up to an AI to make me an approximation of the average of what people think I should be. Where would be the fun in that? Also, it would make for shit comedy.

A person at my gig tonight told me that in Algeria it is seaguls rather than storks who deliver babies. I know that both are just a story told to children but I couldn't imagine trusting a seagul with my infant. I imagine it would eat it whole at the first opportunity.

The publisher behind the popular product 'Video games' has cancelled all production of video games. Again. For like the third time this month. It's absolute madness, and all of it because the dumbest motherfuckers who have ever lived are betting society itself on glorified autocorrect.

I see edgy boi is now apologising for doing a rape joke as if that wasn't going to be the natural progression of what I saw on stage. You can't appeal to the lads and the progressive crowd, which side is going to win out?

Jonathan Lloyd@mxjlloyd.bsky.social

Sometimes it is good to see a sold out show at your favourite venue by someone doing material that wouldn't be out of place at an edgy boi open mic night to make you feel better about your own stuff.

Good chance I wouldn't be performing if it wasn't for (at the time) BBC Radio 7. Listening to The Masterson Inheritance, a show that first aired the day I was born, made me discover longform improv was a thing, and magical thing at that.

If closing surely the least expensive radio channel the BBC has (run by a tiny number of people, broadcasting the work of mainly dead people), bothers you, then why not sign this petition you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/sa...

Since then it let me listen to everything from On The Hour to my beloved Round The Horne. It's an absolute treasure trove of stuff and, again, can't be costing more than 3p a day to run. Real shame to lose it.

you.38degrees.org.ukSave Radio 4 ExtraRadio 4 Extra is a fabulous showcase of the BBC's phenomenal archive of radio comedy and drama, fields in which the Corporation is an undoubted pioneer, with a reputation for quality rivals woud envy ...

Not sure how much money closing Radio 4 extra will save. I am happy to forgo my £22 a year from repeat fees if that helps.

Nikki from OBSESSION joins FORTNITE tomorrow. You wished for this...

I'm intrigued by it given my ideal games are just Resident Evil with no combat. Give me a mansion full of impractical puzzles to make a cup of tea and I'll be happy.

Go see the show that made me go "Huh how does she not have fringe flu" (and also laugh a lot)

Closing Radio 4 Extra will not create savings of note. It commissions no original programmes. It pays modest radio royalties, producers and hosts. That's it. So the BBC archive is gonna be left to collect dust?

As a rule, there's a lot of excellent stuff in Weekend Update. And then there's a lot of edgy boi material I could hear at any open mic. Punching down at people's appearances, rape and nonce gags, route one boring stuff like this. And you know they can do better.

I do prefer when #SNLUK Weekend Update does material I couldn’t just go and read on Facebook. The Roman joke? Lovely. The Gillis stuff? Great. The French are smelly and surrender a lot? You happy with that, yeah?

... I think this week's musical guest might not be just the worst musical guest of the series but also the worst musical performance I've ever seen. #SNLUK

I think Ghost in the Shell is the closest thing I have to being a Star Wars fan, in that I think I enjoy it and then any time I watch most versions of it I'm like "No, this is not what I'm here for."

At Ilkley Playhouse for a book talk and they're advertising that they're doing a show of The Ladykillers written by Graham Linehan which feels. Concerning.

Looking through reviews and they keep mentioning AI features in their positives. No! Let me know how easy it is to turn the lying plagiarism suicide advocate off at the very least!
