Such strong, brave bravery here from the board members to, uh... let me just check my notes here... ah yes to *contemplate* quitting. Such strong moral centres.

A recent securities filing spotlighted what triggered Mark Zuckerberg’s months-long power battle with board directors at Meta — a fight that sparked not-so-veiled threats from Zuckerberg and led board members to contemplate quitting.

Okay so GREMLINS (1984) it turns out he got the Mogwai from ChinaTOWN which is not in fact in *China*. This is a detail I missed as a child. Exact same detail I missed in Big Trouble in Little China (1986). Turns out they are not constantly driving a truck to-and-from China. Young me was an idiot

AAA games have a problem I've been struggling with for some time now where because everything looks so good, it's hard to distinguish objects at a distance? I first noticed it in Space Marine II where I was shooting grey monsters waaay off framed against a grey mountain and honestly I could have...

... been shooting anywhere. Recently it's a problem in Galactic Racer, which occasionally leaves me wondering where the actual track is. This wasn't a problem in the old days when lack of detail meant screen readability was high. You need to do a lot of clever work at distance.

I don't know what the solution to this is. I just think it's interesting as a by-product of the race for Very Pretty Graphics that actually, some things you take for granted about games have taken a weird hit.

Trump announces "fraud whistleblower incentive program" -- "Americans will now be able to go to fraud dot gov and report cases of corruption and theft of taxpayer dollars in their communities ... if you turn somebody in and you find $1 billion, we're giving a commission of 1%. Holy shit guys, calm it down.

Sensor Tower data shows the yawning gap between GTA 6 and everything else. In terms of preorder numbers, Rockstar's game is 148% head of 2022's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at this point from launch. https://bit.ly/4zHqw5q

Fingers crossed that this all just leads to a single webpage with the words "YOU CAN'T" written on it in large, friendly letters.

You can't tell me that the Star Wars Universe hasn't worked out how to make giant space heaters float far enough off the ground that I don't smack into the sides every. single. time. Darth Vader invented these like this on purpose, his most evil act. Fuck that guy.

Oh hey check it out, it's the news story that's nonchalantly playing in the background on the TV at the start of every single zombie movie.

Due to getting old, I recently installed a stretching app that I haven't had time to use yet. Its weird little passive aggressive reminders are getting weirder and weirder and now I guess it thinks I'm a woman who is trying to get pregnant?

I have some space opening up in my schedule for game development consulting, and/or writing funny words. If your project could do with someone who knows what they're talking about sticking their oar in, or good dialogue drop me a line. I'm good at this sort of thing: dan at size five games dot com

The F2P market charming as always, I see. This vid is quite the eye opener regardless, brilliant work.

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

Spent all day coding an insanely complicated new feature and now onto the hardest task in all of #gamedev: drawing a straight line in Photoshop.

I'm very good at storming in and telling you where you're going wrong in development, and why things are taking way longer than they should. If you're being inefficient with your pipelines, I fucking *love* that, because it makes me feel really smug. Get me involved, I'll kick your arse.

Loser ghosts, as well. Loser ghosts who couldn't even keep a boat, which can I remind you has ONE JOB which is to float, couldn't even keep a boat afloat. Stupid loser idiot ghosts, angry and released from their cocoon right now of all times.
