I know folks get real mad when I say this but in times of widespread security crisis, static sites sure are nice

it's kinda weird that all the software i am expected to use for work are all written by distributed teams, go, python, postgres, linux, chrome, k8s etc and despite being told "the best teams work in an office together" i don't know of any software i use that's actually written that way

Don't mess with zooming on a website. Don't mess with scrolling on a website. Don't mess with default cursors on a website. Don't mess with the default Tab order. Don't mess with the back button in the browser. Thank you.

Don't send all your users' data to the broligarchs. The Astro Fonts API downloads and caches fonts so they're served from your site, not an ad company's. Better for CLS *and* GDPR.

New in Astro 5.7: the experimental Fonts API. Say goodbye to boring fonts. Built for performance, privacy and ease of use, the API makes it simple to add beautiful custom fonts to your site.

When I didn’t have “I’m autistic” I had “I need a minute”, “I don’t understand”. I had a lot of ways to communicate my needs. Better than what to many is a vague medical label. I was still autistic. #AutismAcceptance means accepting all autistic people, not just ones with “certificates”.

My friends @jamieandlion.bsky.social like to say, "if you've met one person with autism, you've met one person with autism," because no two humans are alike. But I can't be the only autie (or human, in fact) that occasionally checks with an LLM chatbot to see if something is "socially acceptable"?

It is slightly embarrassing to admit I sometimes need a computer to explain what is expected human nature, but hey, I didn't invent this world. Also this seems like an okay use for LLMs since they are an amalgamation of a lot of social interactions with a handy natural language API.

Told to rewrite a pitch to exclude DEIA? Explain why you won't and walk away if necessary. If you don't have that privilege, here are some alternatives - Expands market reach - Reduces customer experience barriers - Maximizes appeal with untapped user segments I hate that I live in this world now.

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too. EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them. Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)
