Unexpectedly had to get a wisdom tooth out and the pharmacy was on the champs Élysée. Not sure if anyone else here is holding a bag of frozen peas on their face. They told me no alcohol but I'm heading to Oktoberfest in Munich tomorrow lol.

Got lucky as it's European Heritage days here and got a tour of the inside of the Dassault Mercure 100. Only 12 produced and a tremendous commercial failure due to range. However, very cool to see and the people that maintain it were great.

TIL that BA 787-10s are not currently equipped with crew rest areas and if the flight is full the crew don't even have access to cabin seats. According to an FA new deliveries are coming with crew rest but odd they didn't come with them originally.

This halftime show is quick the trip. Like who had the idea for Electric Thunder to introduce BTS and then Ted Lasso to introduce a Justin Bieber acoustic solo? Followed by Kermit, Chris Martin and some elementary schoolers? What is going on.

Seeing several people on twitter asserting that Kalitta 492 is carrying hantavirus cruise passengers back to the US. I'm skeptical as it's a 747-400F. A few people have said they're using special bio containment passenger pods but none of this has any real sourcing. Anyone have real sources?

I got another tour of Boeing Everett today and you should have seen my face when they told me the aircraft I was standing under was the first 777-8F in final assembly! Supposedly should roll out in the next few weeks with first flight this summer.

One cool diff btwn the -8 and -9 is that an actuator that rotates the gear during t/o only exists on the -9. On the -8 there is no need to actuate the joint so a smaller solid link is placed further towards the gear root. The overall gear is the same for both a/c and linkages exist for both configs.

The new 737 line is slowly expanding it seems. Tooling now takes up about a third of the bay. The fuselages that were there are gone but various other harnesses and equipment have moved in.

Just went on the Boeing tour again, you could see the 737 line testing going on in the corner with 2-3 fuselages under construction. Interestingly they didn't point those out and really downplayed the 737 line. You could also see other 737 parts and construction starting on the airfield.

Cancun (CUN) is probably the worst airport I've ever been through. It's just so packed and loud. I was wearing wearing earplugs and noise cancelling headphones and it was still too much.

“The Government thus concedes that the President enjoys no inherent authority to impose tariffs during peacetime.” Good thing Trump has already penciled in starting a war with Iran next week.

Rather loud visitor made me check FR24. It was a 737-400SF, prev BA, first delivery in 1993 and converted to freight in 2017! Wonder how long it's been since a 737 Classic landed at SEA, I'd have to guess there's been almost none since AS retired it's combis.

In case you needed more reasons to avoid twitter, there are multiple responses under the FAA post on the reopening of Louisville Muhammad Ali airport blaming the crash on the airport being named after a Muslim.
