Today, I'm pleased to announce the development of Shards of Remorsica, a high-fantasy solo journaling game powered by tarot, will take place on my Patreon. www.patreon.com/booksofm

Apex Magazine @apexmag.bsky.social is doing their annual Kickstarter and I urge everyone to back one of the genre's most constantly amazing magazines! BONUS: If you share this post you're in the running to receive a signed book from me. Details in thread. 1/ www.kickstarter.com/projects/ape...

Popping in to say THANK YOU for remembering me at Game Hole Con and World Fantasy in Oakland, CA. I am blown away by your talent, insight, laughter, and shared struggles. I truly and deeply hope you are faring as best you can, and appreciate you spending the time. Keep on, keepin' on. :-)

[Insert 50,000 word rant.] Sigh. Off to find schwarma.

Most of these game studios are not closing because they're not PROFITABLE. They're closing because they're not showing GROWTH. The system of investor capitalism is ruining literally everything you care about.

Heya, in "Well, this is a thing that happened and I want to share joy even though the world sucks right now" news, I'm starting to release chapters of my solo journalling game SHARDS OF REMORSICA on Patreon. www.patreon.com/c/booksofm

Hoping DA: Inquisition will remain functional in a month or two. Suddenly feeling the urge to fight dragons. For ReasonsTM.

Very heavy news as our former studio, BioWare closes its doors today. It was a formative place for many. However, many former BioWare devs are scattered around the industry. Find them, support them. Like, follow, comment and help us prove there is still support for the types of games we make!

Where is the "this timeline sucks" gif when you need one. WHERE?!?!?!

I hope EVERY SINGLE PERSON who got laid off today from Bioware will sail to calmer seas and enjoy their best damn life.

BioWare created immersive experiences right down to the Elfroot. These were lands you wanted to travel through, characters you befriended, fought, loved, and stories that still resonate. That's a powerful talent relayed through the medium of a video game, and one I'll never, ever forget.

I am so incredibly sorry to hear about BioWare, and extremely angry. All of those creators deserved so much better.

When I say that the video game industry has had a catastrophic past few years, this is the kind of thing I'm talking about.

Oh yay my emotional support fountain pen* arrived! * At least that's what I tell myself...

Haven't been online in about a week or so, and after seeing WTF-is-even-happening-right-now updates... Well, please enjoy this nice, low-stakes, punny joke.

I located a beacon of hope among the vast and awful (gestures broadly). Scientists have discovered dead reefs can be revived in just 7 weeks by placing healthy coral into the dying bed. This is a game changer for the health of our oceans and the marine life that rely upon these reefs for survival.

UK person here: I come from a family where temporary and permanent estrangements have been going on my whole life and before. I can't speak to Wilhoit's Law specifically, but I can think of reasons why it's now politically expedient in the US to elevate it to moral panic.

Public schools in Utah banned a best-selling Jodi Picoult novel and ordered all copies destroyed. So ... Picoult arrived at a Salt Lake City high school this weekend with 600 copies of the book. And she gave them all away, for free. "Applause and cheers erupted." www.sltrib.com/news/educati...

@djangowexler.bsky.social Heya, I was at a con this weekend and SEVERAL people independently recommended your latest novels to me. Thought you should know how much your stories are appreciated!

It was a blast serving as developer and writer on #MaskOfTheMythos alongside such a fantastic team. Bringing the Mythos into the world of Scion made for a wonderfully weird combination of cosmic horror and divine power. Proud of what we put together, and grateful I got to be part of it! 👁️✍🏾

This Thursday, 10am pacific time, catch my AMA on r/fantasy. Ask me about my new novel A WALL IS ALSO A ROAD! Or ancient Rome! Or soft robots! I'll talk about whatever! There will be a book giveaway! Come say hi! Reddit.com/r/fantasy #scifi #scifibooks #history

The history of modern occultism and 20th century religions is: + Someone had a row with Aleister Crowley + That person walked off in a huff and started a... * cult * revival * "new" tradition inspired by Order of the Golden Dawn * religion

The full story is dumber. Crowley basically broke into the headquarters of a hermetic organization. To keep him from coming in an stealing magical secrets, the group started casting spells at him. He cast spells back. Yeats apparently went "Fuck this" and just booted Crowley down the stairs.

Do you have a forearm tattoo? Would love to see pics!

...and with that? Emotional support spaghetti. See you on the other side.

MOAR FUN THINGS! Yesterday I got so p'oed at the construction happening after sunset, I started blasting the soundtrack to Epic: The Musical. #IfYouKnowYouKnow

You know, the entire point of Empire Strikes Back is to tell Luke it's his destiny to destroy the Emperor... I grok that Vader is attempting to convince him and all, but he sounds earnest about it. It would've been nice if Palpatine actually stayed dead instead of clones. #nothingburger #randomthot

It's been a very long and chaotic couple of...months. Escaped today to get some words down, and am incredibly emotional. This is a series of quilts by a group of seniors displayed at a cafe called Java Cat. The theme was the 250th anniversary of the United States, and every quilt is a gut punch.
