I, too, am NEVER making another political donation ever again.
Voters are receiving so many political texts, calls and mailers that some are reconsidering ever donating to a campaign again “I must get at least 10-20 texts A DAY from literally every single candidate in the country," a Colorado voter said. "It makes me never want to make a contribution again"
Can you land a fixed-wing hybrid-electric aircraft at a heliport?! Electra is trying that right now in NYC with its Ultra Short aircraft, landing at the Downtown Manhattan heliport, KJRB. Live stream: www.youtube.com/live/bmB0v_s... @flightradar24.com link: fr24.com/424c141e
Found an @mta.info 12-trip pass OMNY card, picked it up because I’ve never seen one. Now I’m just frustrated because there’s absolutely no way to see how many rides remain. The website doesn’t recognize it, not even the vending machine does. Only way is to tap for a ride until it stops working?!
We’re so back, folks! Thanks to everyone who was concerned, it’s all looking good from here on out. I even got lunch with @themiddleseatview.bsky.social today! A great way to go back outside for the first time in basically a few weeks.
The world has been in a state of never ending decline since the Windows XP RTM. It was the peak of modern civilization and society will never get back to that state.
this is a QUARTER CENTURY old now youtu.be/GAv1EwoRnec Back to 2001 on LGR today for a retrospective on Windows XP! Reminiscing on its release, unboxing and setting it up, new features, games, screensavers, and a bunch of nifty early 2000s things. Still a truly enjoyable eXPerience decades later!
This @mtametronorth.bsky.social Laser Train decal is the best thing I’ve ever seen
The leaves are falling, and the Laser Train is on the move! ⚡ Here's how we're keeping trains running smoothly this fall.
OMNY is still way too glitchy to have this level of fare enforcement. I took 3 buses this past Saturday, but one of the OMNY taps just never registered despite the on-bus reader accepting my tap. So if the EAGLE team boarded that bus where the tap never registered, would they also try to assault me?
The MTA has removed from duty the fare checkers involved in last week's violent altercation in Brownsville:

Meanwhile, FAA is bringing back some old school smart stuff by reinstating and expanding a program that gets air traffic controllers hands-on flight deck experience. The programs aims to help controllers understand what it's like to be on the other end of the radio. www.faa.gov/newsroom/faa...

Another fiber optic cable cut, this time at IAH: www.instagram.com/p/Dec9y9aF5l... "As of 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, flights at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) are experiencing significant delays after a construction contractor damaged a fiber-optic line today."
This is something I’ve been thinking recently. Emergency vehicle sirens have gotten absurdly loud in NYC and they just don’t work effectively. The noise bounces all over and I even had to pause this video several times IN MY APARTMENT because I couldn’t hear the TV youtu.be/ZwKGWw2XkTQ?...
Unexpected @flightradar24.com mention
What the hell was Eric Adams doing selling a data center in Wisconsin? How did this happen? And why did it all go so wrong so very very fast? For @hellgatenyc.com I went to Wisconsin Rapids to find out, and add another chapter to the Eric Adams lore. hellgatenyc.com/eric-adams-w...
Time to repurpose that horse drawn carriage lane to an actual bike lane! bsky.app/profile/c-so...
New: Mayor Zohran Mamdani and City Council Speaker Julie Menin have reached a deal to abolish NYC's horse carriage industry — a critical breakthrough in a decadeslong, politically fraught effort to ban the tourist attraction. www.politico.com/news/2026/10...
Came across the new @mta.info behind-the-scenes art installation at Atlantic Av Another subway rider pauses to stare at it. Great stuff.

On this week’s AvTalk, the flydubai incident and wider security concerns, the NTSB releases its preliminary report on the fatal Miami runway overrun, disruptions in Riyadh, and some airlines are using older software on their 737s to avoid glitches. www.flightradar24.com/blog/avtalk-...
Sorry the pictures from @amtrakcascades.wsdot.wa.gov Airo ride aren’t better. I was too amazed by how nice the train was and distracted by the amazing views.

I don’t know how any other provider of in-flight Wi-Fi survives in this new reality. Starlink is hoovering up almost every opportunity outside of China and India. All that’s left is scraps probably not sufficient enough to sustain a business. This worries me quite a bit.
Five months ago American announced it'd bring Starlink to 500+ Airbus narrowbody aircraft. Today AA has announced that it'll bring Starlink to its *entire fleet* of 1000+ aircraft, with installing beginning in early 2027. A long overdue shift since its widebody connectivity is basically dead today.
Please enjoy this minute long video of @governor.ny.gov struggling and failing to get one of @mta.info's new turnstiles to let her pass into her own press conference about the new turnstiles 🤣
HMMMMMMM. Last time we saw a Dash-8 Q400 fly into LGA unexpectedly, Air Canada announced new YTZ-LGA service the next day. So I wonder why a Porter Q400 just flew into LGA this morning. Do it, Mr. Porter! bsky.app/profile/airl...
Air Canada making a "major announcement" tomorrow at Billy Bishop Airport, Toronto's downtown city airport. I hear there also happens to be an Air Canada Dash-8 Q400 at LGA right now doing some training work. HMMMMMMM I wonder if these two things are related. www.aircanada.com/media/media-...
Did JetBlue make a huge opposie? It looks like many (all?) of its flights were removed from the schedule for October 13-14, triggering cancelations and auto rebooking to adjacent days. I’m seeing no flights for sale those days, or even availability in ExpertFlyer 😲 www.reddit.com/r/jetblue/co...
I pretty regularly see tourist looking people hanging out with Citibike e-bikes, maybe unknowingly paying by the minute. But just now a girl parks her e-bike in CVS and gets on the back of the not moving pharmacy line. Are there Citibike plans that include unlimited e-bike usage or something?!
I’ll never understand these people who stop and do things as time consuming as having a meal while they’re paying BY THE MINUTE for a @citibikenyc.bsky.social e-bike. The bike fees are going to end up costing more than these tacos. Do they just not care, or do they not know?
@gogosuprtoe.bsky.social I’m on an R179 M train. So that’s new and weird?
Good afternoon and welcome on board @united.com flight UA1708, with nonstop service from SEA to EWR. At some point since my last time here United moved from the nice A gates to the awful B gates. There’s just not enough space down here for modern aircraft. Anyway, it’s a 737-8 on the job today.
Another totally normal @united.com flight in the books. This 737-8, despite being just 3 years old, is starting to show some signs of aging. I pre-ordered the Chicago Patty Melt by Jeff Mauro and Pork Mojo Burrito. The “patty melt” was a cheeseburger but with worse bread. The burrito was good!
What’s up with this huge fleet of @kingcounty.gov Metro electric buses in the South Base lot? I never saw any of these in service this week.
