And now back to my full time job, texting the word "stop" to every living Democrat.

My nephew is studying at university in the UK and has been messaging me intelligent questions about things is he is learning about the US government and elections and I don't know how to explain that the state of things here is, "Well, the President is a real ass creep. Is that anything?"

obviously many more important takeaways from the French approach to protest, but much respect to the absolute varsity level Whimsy of throwing a whole ass piano at the cops

As the weather is getting colder, I made some packs of new socks. I’m going to leave them in the park near the shelter, but if there is a better East Village location, drop it below?

For no reason I am just reminding you to have a decent bottle of something you enjoy--champagne, whiskey, the ingredients for a special little mocktail, whatever. Because you never know when you will need to have a nice glass to toast something happening.

I don't like to quote reviews about my own work (this is about The Velvet Knife), but I have never felt so seen and thankful about a paragraph: "This is not a book that plays around. The opening chapter is instantly chilling and sends your heart to the pit of your stomach. As usual..." (con't)

"...Johnson has created a true puzzle-box of a book that rewards attention to detail and has such powerful parallels with real-life historical cases and the state of our current world. There is a palpable rage within these pages. It is a book very much preoccupied with the abuse of power..."

"...and manipulation. The series has never shied away from these themes but this is a new angle on them and feels cognisant, especially in terms of controlling and twisting the narrative. The Velvet Knife shows that Johnson will knock it out of the park every single time." tinyurl.com/4h2wwk3s

Trump: "I'm studying his body. I've never studied the body of a man before. It's not my thing. Nothing wrong with it, of course. But it's never been my thing. But I looked at his ass. I said, 'His ass, shit, it's like a pile of muscle.' Then I looked at his legs and I said, 'Man, his feet are big.'"

I mean, Anthropic doesn't care. But maybe something can be done legally. Or maybe more people will become aware that AI is a giant theft machine that destroys things. It makes nothing.

Honestly, we could make it easy for reporters to find people who have had problems with finalizing their Anthropic settlements. I have. Have you? Reply below. Or make your own posts.

Keep submitting to Anthropic. Check your contracts. Call them. And any reporters covering books: PLEASE WRITE ABOUT THIS. The Anthropic back system is BROKEN almost by design. Almost FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND works stolen. 1.5 billion trapped in a garbage system.

Mine keeps getting set back to 100% to the publisher. 🙄 Thank you for your post because I assumed it was the publisher doing it, not a broken system.

Billionaires: this is the coolest car ever. The poors wish they could have one RIGHT NOW but only YOU can and you MUST just for the flex. Get it now! While it's hot! Drive it upside down! Do it! Do it or your money is worthless!

"Flying cars are real!" 🚀 Elon Musk and Tesla showcase the new Roadster.

The short version of this is: the stupidity machine stole the books, then used the stupidity machine to build a stupid machine that cannot be fixed no matter what you do to pay out the 1.5 billion they have to may for all they stealing. Which sounds like a lot until you realize it's SO MANY BOOKS.

The exciting part about the Anthropic vibe coded settlement backend is that no matter how many times you fix your information, the same broken bits will reappear. It will be total madness. The entire backend is broken because, AS THEY TOLD ME ON THE PHONE, they know it is because they vibe coded.

They quite literally told me on the phone that they know the info is wrong. And that the backend was AI built because "coding is hard." THAT IS NOT SOMETHING I MADE UP. THAT IS A QUOTE. So that is why I see publishers who did no publish certain books getting 30% of the cut.

This is actual garbage. Every writers' union should be clearly standing up and saying NO AI USE. Not, "we'll ask before your work is used to for training." For training WHAT? What do you need the work for?

Our position on generative AI remains unchanged. But an increasing number of organisations within the publishing industry are using the technology. In her blog post our CEO sets out why we want to see the adoption of cross-industry standards. buff.ly/DCPZPY2

AUTHORS: REJECT AI. NO DEAL. SOA: So what I'm hearing is that you want us to say more about our AI deal.

We understand the strength of feeling this AI Charter has provoked & that more explanation is needed. We will publish a blog tomorrow detailing why, in a vacuum of regulation, this charter demands more transparency & accountability from organisations on how they are using AI now and in the future.

ME: *sees the Kelly Clarkson/Art of Play story* so much nonsense no thank you ME, ONCE I REALIZE AOP IS OWNED BY THE AUTHOR OF DRAGONS LOVE TACOS: what the hell is happening

Every fifth cheese moon or something a dingbat writes a piece like the one in the Jacobean today. It's always the same. "Men read men and women read women." My man, as a burgeoning writer and up until the age of 17 my reading curriculum included ONLY ONE BOOK by a woman. I BASICALLY ONLY READ MEN...

And yet, here I am. 20 novels and writing degrees and everything. I am always embarrassed for these numbnuts. These small children of the forest. They don't seem to know how books work. Or reading. Or people.
