The first one was exactly what I wanted to see. The sequel is gonna have some big shoes to fill, but I'll definitely see it.

It’s true. Every one of them amazing to work with.

It’s rough and unfair out here in the dreams business. You would have loved what this team of 70+ passionate devs were doing together.

As with all games, I would recommend not looking too hard at filenames and dev names. Ideas change or are abandoned over the course of multiple year projects. Only player-facing names are “correct” because to scramble the game’s insides by updating all references could be a disaster for a launch.

I am once again begging you not to use air raid sirens, alarm klaxons, or other repetitive “alarm” sounds in your game for more than a very short time. Especially if it’s a wide linear or open world game.

Whatever you do don’t take me to The Island from The Prisoner! I’d hate to live in a cool rent free apartment full of bold late 60s modern furniture haha noooo a bubble don’t chase me haha

It is my considered opinion that a society where people want to be able to bet on everything is one where the only viable path out of continual hell is to get really really lucky once.

This is a really great breakdown, well worth reading.

Another new blog post! This is a bit more in-depth. 10-15 minute read. I designed Destiny encounters for years but haven't ever talked much about what that actually means. So here you go! #GameDesign #Destiny

Every time you read a story like this (which is way too often), keep in mind that there is a real plaintiff and a real defendant seeking some kind of legal relief that was worth spending thousands of dollars to pursue that is being delayed or dismissed because their lawyer was a dipshit.

In Mississippi, lawyers on both sides of a court case were caught using AI, essentially two LLMs arguing against each other. The judge dismissed all lawyers from the case and canceled the trial: www.404media.co/judge-learns...

Most of the time I drift around in a kind of temporal figure state living somewhere between 1994 and 2026, but seeing a man in full business suit wearing a backpack and riding to work on his electric scooter shocks me back to now.

Slight spoiler but Bang(2025) does make the hitman have a literal change of heart before he decides to retire from his life of killing. It did do one thing I didn’t expect, so worth seeing…or reading a plot summary.

So, I write articles monthly for free, and if people like them, they tip. This helps me pay down my medical costs. I need about $6,400 to try to get back on my diabetic care. That's life saving stuff! So I'd be very very grateful if you shared my work or tipped me at paypal.me/stompsite

The problem with making your mission impossible movie 80 hours long is that you have to keep repeating yourself for the audience to remember what’s happening. I assume.

This bit in the From Russia With Love game made me laugh out loud. You've got a fairly grounded, low key fight based on the one in the movie, then the most video game looking fucker of all time slides into frame.

I credit Tracer Bullet with my love for film noir, and hardboiled detective stories in general. I went looking for what it was referencing because it seemed cool, even with it's silliness.
