SCOOP: The CDC's deputy director is leaving. Jen Shuford, an infectious-disease physician who had been Texas's health commissioner, was hired to help restore trust in CDC. Now she's out after six months. More with @lenasun.bsky.social.

HHS wants a new Medicare code that pays doctors extra only when they attribute a patient’s symptoms to a vaccine. Vaccine critics say doctors are paid to push vaccines. We aren’t. Under this code, we’d be paid to blame them. My new piece in @cidrap.bsky.social: www.cidrap.umn.edu/childhood-va...

At face, the lack of an ACIP board seems like a DC red tape thing, but this is a sneaky eugenics effort. When vaccines are not recommended by ACIP, they are not covered by insurance or available for free through Medicaid…meaning the most physically and financially vulnerable don’t have access.

Melody Schreiber@melodyschreiber.com

There's no ACIP in the US right now -- and there won't be for the foreseeable future because RFK Jr isn't reconstituting the group. That is already having consequences for new vaccines, which don't have ACIP recommendations. My latest: www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

70 percent of the internet was vulnerable yesterday to very bad security flaws inside a coding language. Turns out, *one volunteer* is mostly responsible for maintaining that code & helping push updates. Yesterday Ondřej Surý saved the internet. So I called him up www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...

The unethical study that RFK Jr. funded in Guinea-Bissau “will not go forward”. That’s great news. But I don’t plan to sleep on it. RFK Jr. will continue doing this kind of thing until the Republican Congress is either swept out of office or remembers what serving their country means.

This week, NIH advisors rebuked RFK for harming #NIH and US science. Sheryl Gay Stolberg reported it. Then RFK posted calling her sources anonymous or corrupt. I'll say this hoping it does good: I'm an NIH scientist, I'm not anonymous, and RFK Jr is destroying NIH. More in attachment:

Christina Applegate was very brave to put herself out there and candidly discuss how she now has no definitive diagnosis (or treatment) for her debilitating symptoms. Applegate's podcast co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler was misdiagnosed with Lyme disease, which delayed her MS diagnosis by 1.5 years.

There are no doubt many false prophets who will attempt to give another false diagnosis to Christina Applegate. But the only way forward is better science. Here is an illustration of the chronic Lyme cult coming to recruit anyone with neurological symptoms (whether explained or unexplained):

Holy cow. The Guinea-Bissau offices of the two Danish researchers who were funded by RFK Jr. to conduct an unethical experiment with the HepB vaccine just had their offices raided and vaccines seized by the police. Great work on reporting this story once again by @melodyschreiber.com.

RFK Jr’s CDC funded Hep B vaccine experimentation in Guinea Bissau is an arm of his anti-vax crusade. His unethical “research” is coming to a university near you, if we don’t stop this study PERMANENTLY, and remove him from power. STOP THE STUDY HERE: www.standupforscience.net/petition-to-...

Not mentioned about this unethical study is "why Guinea-Bissau"? The trial is not to test efficacy - we already know it's effective - it's to test non-specific effects. There is *zero* grounds to do that in a country with high risk of HepB - if UoSD is hell-bent on doing a study, do it in Denmark.

Gregg Gonsalves@gregggonsalves.bsky.social

The Danish government and the EU should be looking into this and into Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark, which has condoned this so-called research. 1/ www.theguardian.com/society/2026...

Angela Wulbrecht was also a subject in the "Giving Wakefield" Yale study, which was a product of Akiko Iwasaki & Harlan Krumholz's partnership with anti-vaxxers. This study was cited by RFK Jr's NIH in its zeal to legitimize unsubstantiated allegations of vaccine injuries. bsky.app/profile/lyme...

This👇 is such a good example of how on top of her game Helen was. While she was keeping us all updated on Ebola, MERS, flu, and so many of all the other infectious diseases out there, she immediately grasped the gravity of the first warning sign of what we now remember as SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19.

The chronic #Lyme cult is nearly 40 years old, having started in the late 1980s. There are people who grew up in this abusive cult who are adults now. Some of them went to med/nursing/PA school and are becoming the next generation of quacks. Example: James Bruzzese, MD opened his own quack clinic.

LymeScience@lymescience.org

A top promoter of camel milk is Jodie Dashore, a long time leader in the autism quackery movement who's credited in the case report you posted. She practices w/ a NJ occupational therapy license. Her son Brian Dashore had a childhood of quackery & is a med student. The abused may become an abuser.

“The children who are randomly selected not to receive the birth dose of the vaccine, those who “lost the lottery”, face in their earliest days the risk of contracting hepatitis B, which can cause irreversible lifelong damage.” No words. I am speechless. This violates all ethical boundaries.

I’ve seen a few folks comment that “Guinea-Bissau is a low income country and cannot afford the hep B vaccine birth dose, so why is this study unethical?” It’s a good question. Let me have a go at answering it. In a nutshell, researchers cannot ethically exploit poverty & scarcity to do a trial

The CDC just re-opened a previously shelved study that would withhold the hepatitis B vaccine from children in Guinea-Bissau, despite decades of evidence showing it is safe and effective. This is a violation of human rights, using “science” to harm some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
