The Guide to Glorantha is a wonderful beast, and I figured I should write about it! Because this 800-pages, 5.7 kgs slipcase set is a great source for your next light Gloranthan setting! It makes zero sense? Sure it does! Read on! ludovic.chabant.com/blog/2026/10...

For those who voted for the BC Conservatives, remember that their economic platform was mostly… wishful thinking and made up numbers, sprinkled with cuts to public services?
The next few years are going to be “fun”. Remember the rule of thumb: left wing governments barely ever make things better, but right wing governments almost always make things worse.
Ossi Hiekkala has a blog post about his illustration work in the recently released “Lands of RuneQuest: Sartar”. Lots of pretty paintings to gawk at (while waiting to receive the book), and some interesting anecdotes. Ossi’s art is frankly the number 1 reason for me to buy the book!

"The Parthenogenesis of Hungry Hollow (2024) is the most ambitious Liminal Horror scenario to date... tighter, cleaner and easier to run. I think, ultimately, it’s scarier, too." Thanks for the review, Stu!

I had to go on Twitter to confirm this was real because Ship Awesome Games In A Weekend having a hand with six fingers was so on the nose I was about to pass out
This shit just writes itself at this point. Just the name "Epic AI MegaJam" is a joke that best describes what is going on with these companies.

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

EA shutters BioWare and carves through other teams months after after Saudi-led buyout An internal email obtained by Vertical Slice states EA is also "bringing together" Respawn and DICE to work on a new shooter.
My gamedev hot take for a while has been “it was a mistake to go 3D”. We spend millions of $$ for shit like cloth physics and foot planting and rendering grass, which has no fucking incidence on a game except for a vague sense of “immersion” or whatever.
graphics beyond the ps4 were a mistake. none of this shit is sustainable anymore. every single Big Game costs one billion dollars to make and has to make 5 billion to be profitable and it also costs $100 nobody has and also needs to have an infinite postgame and also is forgotten in a week

“Electronic Arts Closing BioWare, Laying Off Hundreds”: this doesn’t come as any surprise (there was very little chance Bioware was going to survive long enough to ship any other game) but it still is sad. Call me back once capitalism is done with the games industry.
“Anthropic IPO filing: the disaster in numbers”: $4.6b in revenue (at best), $12.65b in operating expenses, and $500+b in commitments they can’t possibly cover. Meanwhile, the Conservatives always lecture us about “government spending” and “balanced budgets”, LOL.
Warning: playing to much Unknown Armies may lead to these kinds of posts
You ain't ready for the dungeon until you have either a Scrotomancer or Anomancer in your group. They really put the party in 'Adventuring Party.' We wanted to bring a Clitomancer, but the bard said he couldn't find one and assured us they were a myth.

Update on the use of AI text in Chaosium Community Content programs @drivethrurpg.com. TL/DR: Don't use it in our programs. AI is not art. It is theft from you and every writer who has gone before you, repackaged dishonestly and shamelessly as original. www.chaosium.com/blogupdate-o...
"I know X is ethically bad but it benefits me and my friends so I'll use it" is the ethos that basically got the US to end up where it is now. I'm thinking of starting replacing "genAI" with "slavery" and see how that makes people sound.
I'll be honest, there is nothing more demoralizing to me than devs saying "I know AI is built on theft, and anti-labour, and harms the environment, but I'm going to use it anyway bc I don't believe individual choices matter". This is how a movement fails. www.molleindustria.org/blog/future-...

Congrats to our Albertans neighbours for going out en masse to vote against a bunch of silly disinformation, but it’s only the start of your work: there’s still 1 in 4 of you that believes secession is going to accomplish anything worthwhile.

It would be a shame if something was to happen to these warehouses… Unrelated: how much for one of those drones I keep hearing about in the news?
Business Insider confirms it: Amazon has warehouses of GPUs that can’t be installed, and is buying them so far in advance that a supply chain team said they “didn’t have a clear forecasted path” to installing them. www.businessinsider.com/amazon-220-b...
