After seeing Coraline, I held the opinion that Laika movies weren't for kids. Decade+ later, watching Wildwood I've completely reversed my stance. Laika makes THE BEST children's movies. Beyond being a production marvel; it's a critical lesson in processing selfish desires, mistakes, and loss.

it feels to empty to relay. I have to reflect and think though, I'm speaking to 90 year olds. So, a text is hard to get or respond to right? A phone call is probably missed because of a cell. So I'm sending a card, and I'll say with love and prayer. That's the only way I know how to relate.

This is after my aunt survived aortic valve open heart surgery with a bypass earlier this month, revealing that yes the heart problem IS hereditary (I learned my cousin had the same surgery) and likely explains the deaths of THREE uncles. Cool! No no not a pity party just a vent session. Haha.
