He/they I am, or am not. If the latter, I'm informed that I won't mind. Owns the concept of punching Richard Spencer.

The pit does the same thing for the psyche as church or a good football chant. Your soul needs a way to feel community, but it doesn't have to be deep. It can be shoving other idiots around as someone sings about not being a cunt.

My friends who don't work hospo have terrible taste in music. Had a last minute ticket for free to a local punk institution's final gig, couldn't find any takers who aren't working. Loads of people who were keen but rostered on. (Ignoring friends who don't want to be in a crowded room, fair enough.)

I get why people might want to avoid engaging with complaints in fandom. There's always going to be good and bad faith criticisms about anything in a big fandom. I don't get the people who see that and respond to complaints is by adding yet more complaints, solely about there being complaints.

#AusPol Disappearing children from the streets and keeping them isolated away from their trusted adults. Sounds like an #Epstein agenda.

💥Nick McKim exposes terrifying new ASIO powers allowing kids as young as 14 to be dragged off the street for secret interrogation—denied a lawyer of choice and cut off from their families. Unbelievable overreach.

This skeet brought to you by the champ who decided to try and turn in to clean me who'd have thought that there'd be pedestrians in the valley on the weekend. I hope his driving skills don't cost anyone else what he's earning.

I don't want a beautiful word for this mundane rot caused by greed and capacity. I want a word that is sticky and connotes filth. I'm happy to hear your alternatives, but am sceptical.

Important to note; Japan has way stricter laws around laying people off. Actual protections from its government that force companies to do things like have execs take pay cuts before doing a mass layoff. The solution to this problem is not a “good” CEO. It’s systemic and complete reform.

Anyway here's Lisa Duggan on Andrew Sullivan warning about the "emasculation" of the gay movement 24 years ago: "He only asks that gays be allowed to exist within this neoliberal landscape, so long as they support sentimental masculinist nationalism and challenge nothing."

The only thing children prefer to outsmarting their patents is _almost_ outsmarting their patents. The cackle of a child that _almost_ beat their parent in the lowest stakes game of wits yet has joy that no adult can ever know. If they win, they need to explain how, ruining the joke. They know this.

Learning with a proven example that sticking to moral standards is better in the long run with evidence rather than blind optimism. I believed this before, and have worked this way regardless as I won't live in a world where this is untrue, but visible vindication is motivating.

Fortunate Son played over a military parade of obviously checked-out soldiers, marching out of sync to stroke the ego of a real estate mogul turned president who dodged the draft the song was written in criticism of. I have already become the joker.

I am formerly rejecting "If you wrote this in a novel it'd be too on-the-nose". Going forward my characters will perform unambiguous symbology, read lines devoid of subtly, whilst a big flashing sign over the stage reads THIS IS ALL REALLY HAPPENING RIGHT NOW YOU FUCKS.

This website should let me know how old posters are, just because I need to judge people's opinions appropriately. An interesting and bold but really stupid take from a 19yo is a sign of promise, but at 25 signifies at best an edgy parrot that can use a keyboard.

I don't want to talk to a chat bot. I don't want to use AI to respond to a message. I don't want to download an app. I don't want to connect my fridge to wifi. I don't want to connect my socials to my bank. I don't want to rent the thing I used to own. I don't want to get notifications on my phone.
