Since about September of last year, I have been trying to get any word from my employer on their AI policies in regard to how they will use it and what they will do to combat pollution. I work in Healthcare. Data centers make people sicker. So we should care, right? Wrong!

I'm so annoyed about all of this. I feel crazy for caring as much as I do. But if a software developer can get a religious exemption, why can't I? If people can opt out of flu vaccines (which affect the health of those around them) why can't I opt out of genAI? Makes sense to me.

Instead, I've been getting the run around. The CEO didn't even know we were using generative AI when I spoke to him at a public forum last year! I've had meetings with a couple of different people, sent probably dozens of emails, done more than my due diligence as a peon in the Healthcare system.

Today, I finally emailed HR. As in ALL of HR, not just the local rep that my boss had been trying to work with. I want an exemption from using generative AI in my workplace. You know what this healthcare facility uses genAI for? Our training modules. Yup! Is it accurate? Who even knows!

I love board games. My favorite is when people put meat and cheese on a board. Maybe some crackers and fruit. I'm really good at that one.

If I am still sick on Monday, I'm going to fight God. And if that doesn't work, I'll fight Zeus, cause it's probably his fault anyways. Even if it's not his fault, it's definitely his fault.

Secret Santa advice from a pro: when you don't know what to get someone, but they mention a favourite candy, buy all of that candy in as many flavors as you can find. And that's why my person is getting 12 different variations on a Reese's

If a church doesn’t have a food pantry or a soup kitchen or a closet full of clothes and blankets open to the public or isn’t showing up at natural disasters to help, why does that church have a tax-exempt status?

There's such a betrayal when a cookie *looks* good, but then it tastes... bad? Like, why did you do this to me? Why did you let down all the cookies of the world?

After 3 obnoxious days, I have rewritten my current project from 3rd person into 1st person 💪 Unfortunately, this time spent now has me wondering if I should rewrite it in present tense rather than past tense 🤔😓 #writingwoes #amwriting

What do I want for Christmas? A mysterious manor in the Scottish countryside, a vast expanse of land, a library of vintage novels, a collection of the world’s rarest wines, an owl to deliver and retrieve my post, and my own personal pastry chef. I'm really not that hard to shop for.

Today I learned that my rejection/acceptance rate for publication is about 11:1. I feel like this is a good rate, so I think I'll continue on with my submission and querying journey. #writing #publishing 💙✏️

PonyBoy and I have had our fourth ride today, and our very first on our own! He is such a wonderful, smart little guy. I can't wait until spring and we can go venturing through local parks and farmlands together 🥰💙🐎
