Okay, I'll do some recommendations. Signalis is one of the best horror games ever, a perfect indie Survival Horror that's firing on all cylinders, and the music is incredible.

Hey folks, there's a Halloween scream sale on now, and I don't have it in me to do a recommendation thread at the moment, so if you want to take a look at the discounts. There's some good stuff on sale.

Another of my favourite horror games, Detention is an absolute masterpiece, utterly terrifying, incredible atmosphere. If you've not yet played it, I would insist upon it.

Look Outside ended up claiming my GOTY of 2025, and for good reason. One of the best depictions of cosmic horror I've ever seen, and positively incredible pixelart, I can't recommend this game enough, you owe it to yourself to play it.

Aliens: Dark Descent is another I'm very frequently recommending, but you'll know why if you play it, it's one of the most tense, anxiety inducing games I've ever had the joy to experience. Very much does for Aliens what Alien Isolation did for Alien.

Brazilians recommending not to amplify right-wing talking points by dunking and quoting, as a winning strategy Next day, my tl is full of people dunking on rfk jr I literally would not have seen the bigotry if it wasn't for y'all repeating it. That's exactly what the Brazilians were on about!

I appreciate that people want a new Mass Effect, but the future where fans advocate for the work itself and not the people who make it is the one the vultures at EA want. If you'll take it however you get it, they can keep treating people who make what you love as expendable.

kotaku.comWhat Does It Even Mean To ‘Save’ Mass Effect? - KotakuThousands of fans are rallying around a campaign to save the series after BioWare's shutdown, but what does that look like?

While I don't think we need to see the return of Greenlight, it's probably not good that EIGHT IDENTICAL AI-GENERATED GAMES BY THE SAME DEVELOPER can be blasted onto the release page simultaneously.

I get why so many boomers are aghast at the idea of younger generations going "no contact" with their parents. It must be upsetting to be faced with the reality that you fucked up the most important (and easiest) part of being a parent: loving your child unconditionally.

sooo, another case of industry's racism? Like come the fuck on, how is a game from one of the most profilic studios left in this god forsaken industry, with one of the coolest IPs struggle to find a buyer. It's of course because of the fear of reactionary right wing crowd because blade is black.

The whole original Metro trilogy is 90% off, and the first two games just got a major polish and tune-up. That's a whole lot of STALKER-adjacent post apocalyptic shooting for under £10. And all three games look great.

Looking for game devs who have been directly inspired by anything BioWare for my next video. I suspect the public likely doesn’t quite realize the extent of their influence on the industry, so I’d really like to highlight that. If you are one such game devs, pls reply to this post!

This is just insanity. One of the best studios to ever do it, with a big-budget immersive sim based on a major Marvel property ALMOST FINISHED, and nobody wants to release it!? The big business side of this industry has gone completely mad.

its deeply upsetting that we've become so accustomed to giant tech platforms abandoning any kind of responsibility for moderation that people just default to strategies to protect themselves but valve makes BILLIONS from steam, they should be the ones protecting the products on their shopfront!

Just a reminder to all the indie devs: You can just post a link to your game when you mention it. In fact, attaching a link and thumbnail beneath doesn't even add to the character count. This isn't Twitter. You won't be suffocated in your sleep by the algorithm here. There is no algorithm here.

To help against misinformation: This is the result of the Saudi Arabian buyout deal. The most ridiculous deal ever made where EA could barely cover the cost of the debt it accrued. A lot of people will attach their personal feelings to the "why" but this is the real reason ^

It's not, it's because Old Republic spun off into it's own thing so Bioware no longer has MMO sub numbers pumping up their bottom line after every project they've done in years has been a flop. Imagine what SE's quarters would look like without FF14 on the balance sheet.

guynamedgatsby.bsky.social@guynamedgatsby.bsky.social

Might be Monday night quarterbacking here, but I can’t believe all this happened because of how badly the ending of Mass Effect 3 was botched.

Its sad to see another studio with such storied history being grund to dust once again over the course of last decade, poor developers have been mismanaged and locked in development hell after development hell- and their reward is being sacrificed on the altar of the saudi acquisition. It sucks.

please stop replying to game devs saying things like "well look on the bright side those laid off devs can start their own indie studios now" because eventually one of us is going to snap and "WITH WHAT FUCKING MONEY" would be a shitty last thing to hear before you die
