Something that has stuck with me 12 years later is that the guy who datamined Smash 4 and leaked future DLC had no idea who Ryu was but was hyped about Roy and Lucas. Lmfao

For the most part I don’t mind being middle-aged but if I had known that I was going to be making the same sound the Quake guy does when he jumps every time I got off the couch for the rest of my life I might have treasured my youth a little more.

Mushi ultra is definitely starting to humble me. But surely if I keep letting myself be humiliated enough... Then I will be the one humbling it!

Some of the art is also by Remedy staffers, who are essentially exhibiting their side projects in Resonant. A very cool aspect of this game, from a studio that often taps family and friends to fill things out Read all about it (and why there are so many Pulse Fitness gyms in the game, too!)

NEW: Remedy's latest game, Control Resonant, is filled with art galleries. The galleries are filled with real art When I began talking to Remedy about it, I was delighted to discover who the artists are: many are the game developers' parents My story... www.gamefile.news/p/control-re...

gamefile.newsWho made the art inside Control Resonant? When the developers of Control Resonant needed to fill their video game version of New York City with art galleries, they tapped the talents of people they knew particularly well

deadlock will have you convinced that one ability on your main is the best ability in the entire game, only to be proven wrong when you pick up a new character and notice one of their abilities is also the best ability in the entire game

that's probably why those programs meant to help out lonely neurodivergent ppl like me have never worked out well when I was young an example of such is how ABA is designed to make ppl with autism mask and conform to conventions that will always be hostile to their nature

expanding on this a bit since I was still thinking about it: in my observation Reisen gets swept up in her emotions really hard this is frequently portrayed as anxiety and pessimism, but IMO it can also go the other way, where if things are going well for her she'll start acting smug or egotistical

K'eeg@armormodekeeg.blacksky.app

I feel like her enjoying the "punishment room" (on the punishing side) makes a lot of sense for someone who otherwise likely feels like she lacks a lot of control over her life (and someone whose general emotional regulation is kinda terrible lol)

NEW: I spoke with current and former EA employees to understand how the latest layoff round played out and the realities of daily life at the U.S. publisher. The short version? EA is controlled by an executive class that "cannot fail, only be failed." Workers, then, will always pay the price.

"I don't want to work at this place anymore:" EA workers decry mismanagement and corporate greed after mass layoffs Current and former EA employees paint a bleak picture of daily life at one of the video game industry's most prominent publishers

also fuck max payne 3's higher difficulties "what if the game based around epic action setpieces was actually about abusing the slow mo mechanic while diving as much as possible while at the farthest distance from enemies so you can snipe them before they instantly hitscan beam you from 500 yards"

Shroomius@shroomius.itch.io

slow mo mechanics in games usually rub me the wrong way because a lot of the time they just guarantee that hard to execute things will never actually be hard or are just intentional misrepresentations of the game for the visual flare of an epic slow mo shot

"Tako" is Japanese for octopus, as in takoyaki. It's also an all-purpose insult for an idiot, one that goes back to Japan's Edo era. According to one writer, some women even list their husbands as "tako" in their phone contacts.

lrt: there really is plenty of opposition to AI on jp social media. Tons of artists hate it for stealing their work on top of everything else; the artists you *do* see flocking to it are the major ones with established careers they can coast on. In other words, the same dynamic you see in English.

I remember when everyone's clowning on niu lai only for the animation community to go "wait how did they make a film on sketchup, a program meant for 3d modeling, not 3d animation!?"

Cartoon Brew@cartoonbrew.bsky.social

China’s first AI-generated theatrical feature has flopped, earning just $181,000 in its first weekend. By contrast, the scrappy ‘Niu Lai’ turned its crude animation into a viral attraction, grossing nearly $10 million a couple of months ago. www.cartoonbrew.com/box-office-r...
