You’d think the mediocre whites and their AAPI allies would be happy. They “won” on affirmative action and black student enrollment has plummeted. But they’re not happy. As long as there’s *one* Black person in school they’ll still run to SCOTUS Their next target is 5th graders Me in @thenation.com

Democrats need to run hard against Elon Musk. They need to warn the public that the world's richest man is spending $276 million to attempt a hostile takeover of our government.

The sci-fi fantasy that AI hucksters use to fool people into thinking there can be manmade intelligence is that it goes all the way back to 1818, with the publication of "Frankenstein." In the very first version of "AI," Mary Shelley got something fundamental about the desire to believe.

Just a reminder that these Haitian immigrants in Springfield -- who came here legally, did everything they were asked to do and more -- became a target of federal crackdowns because the white nationalist vice president shamelessly spread racist lies about them.

GOP ads right now are all about attacking trans people. Over, and over, and over. I was a gay teen in 2004 watching the Bush campaign try to win on attacking gay marriage, but the resort to this hate drive in campaign ads feels so dialed up now. I can’t imagine being an lgbt kid watching tv today.

It was hard, especially as a survivor, but I dug through the court documents and the right-wing reaction to the Cornell case. What I've learned is the backlash to #MeToo did its job, reinscribing hatred of survivors. We need more #MeToo, not less. www.salon.com/2026/10/02/c...

Could be 60. Trump wants "data to rein" because that means the oligarch Nerd Reich side rule. Democrats could get right on this; they know they'll have to, just for the environment, but they're either afraid of the tech fascist donors. Or are deluded enough to think the PayPal Mafia is persuadable.

I understand 60 Minutes is a huge platform. But NYT sets the agenda for American politics and elite discourse. That gave Ross huge power. And he used it poorly and often disingenuously. Good riddance.
