My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

I was definitely the sort to restrain myself at school & meltdown at home, but I sure never blended in with peers. I was precocious, intense, relentless with questions, & already understood that I was a god over my toys & this came with responsibility.

I try a lot of jams/preserves to pair with cheese, & this is my absolute favorite peach one: Finch + Fennel Amaretto Peach + Pecan. Flavor and texture is incredible. Cheesy advice: try a good peach jam with Gouda!
