It's so weird that we get this and the Emily Wilson response to the Odyssey that has misidentified tropes, a blatant disregard for visual storytelling, and a desire for a plot that would be, frankly, dumb as shit Maybe this is the year that people realize talking critically about movies is hard?
“'You Can See Everything' is a hilarious, thrilling, fascinating, beautiful piece of art. What it certainly is not is a documentary, and it’s dangerous to pretend that it is,” writes Theranos whistleblower Tyler Shultz. https://bit.ly/4Bk2nDJ

Well well well, looks like Kevin Roose needs critics after all when it comes time to shill his fucking book. I don't understand, why can't I just ask Claude about how bad his writing is?

The way you can prove that Facebook actively interfered in the election is that their actions failed spectacularly
Lula has taken the overall, countrywide lead back. With 62% of precincts counted, he is ahead 50.6% to 49.4%, which is an edge of roughly 900,000 votes. He is also getting the shift he needs (compared to the first round) in virtually every state that has reported most of the vote.

thinking fondly again of the college girl at the donut place, who made a little muslim boy bounce giddily out the door after she told him his donut was free, and who waved me away and said "you're good" when it was my turn to pay and then, when asked if there was a deal that day said "i hate my job"

"They didn't virtue signal they simply [did good things in an attempt to bring attention to the plight of others and foment a change in society for the better]" There are no words that provide faster evidence that you should treat the speaker with the utmost contempt than "virtue signal".
"The Jews who went to Mississippi didn't take selfies and post tweets." Okay, but honestly, if tweets had been a thing in 1961, many of them probably would have done.

Damn. It's wild how all of those automated tripwires that are never deliberate have never made the world better. Facebook never "accidentally" fomented a utopia, but they sure as shit have a few genocides to their name
Yes, it sucks that the No Kings insta was suspended (though I still think it was likely an automated tripwire, rather than deliberate). But falling back into "well we have to politically punish media execs to get better results" doesn't fix anything.
