They prooooobably could have made the UI a smidge wider to accommodate longer usernames haha. From memory, my username hits the limit.

Whoa… I should have checked my emails this morning! Huge personal news! I’m finally going to become a citizen of this great country! Just have to wait for a ceremony invite!

Found a typo in the email lol… “You will be invited to attend citizenship a ceremony in person.”

@jasnell.me Thank you so much for this fix! The bug had been giving me literal nightmares for the past year or so. All it took was for me to actually hunker down and figure out a minimum reproduction (took me 2 days btw lol) It's crazy how fast you were able to push a PR 😅 I owe you one!

github.comFixup AsyncContextFrame gc tracing by jasnell · Pull Request #6274 · cloudflare/workerdDon't gc trace the AsyncContextFrame members... it turns out that setting the frame as current is not sufficient to establish a strong root, meaning that once the values are traced they become ...

msedit has replaced nano for me. I just absolutely love everything about it. I hope it makes its way into distros someday.

Gotta wait for my friends to hop on so we can celebrate 🙌 This'll be my first 99 ever. I started playing RuneScape back in 2004-ish. But this particular account was started in November last year. Pretty happy with the progress. I've never had a >100 combat account either. Very exciting 🎉

Rewatching Homeland, and a wild Timothée Chalamet appears! The first time I watched Homeland I didn’t even know who he was.

Azure: "RestError: There was a problem communicating with the identity service." Cool cool cool... I see. Thanks for that, Azure. I wish Azure had some presence here on Bluesky. I miss that from the Twitter golden days.

I keep running into this annoying AsyncLocalStorage bug in Cloudflare Workers. The value for one of my ALS stores randomly "goes away" lol. I found that the bug showed up a lot when I reused a Drizzle instance across requests (in a Durable Object) - which was a simple fix...

@jasnell.me @kentonvarda.com Are you aware of any issue like this? I wanted my reach-out to be a last resort... but I think I'm hit my limit of what I'm able to do. In the past it's been possible to replicate locally (although far less frequently), but so far this time I haven't been able to.

It feels really random - in the sense that (this time, at least) the bug shows itself like 1 in 25 requests to a particular endpoint. The endpoint in question is a batched tRPC call where the first 2 procedures work totally fine, but the 3rd gets undefined when calling getStore (where I then throw).

The ALS value is being set well before the call to our http router (hono) and the tRPC router itself. And it's the ONLY time the value is ever being set. Months ago I attempted to create a minimal reproduction of the bug but all my attempts failed.

And it also appeared to not like it when I re-used a Map object across requests either - another simple fix... but now I'm seeing the problem again, and this time I have no clue what could be causing it.

Snapchat, Canva, Duolingo, Zoom, Amazon, MyFitnessPal, Fortnite, Signal, Roblox and more are currently down.

I would have thought we had all learned by now that you don’t run your entire infra in one region 🤦‍♂️

Just discovered Cloudflare’s capnweb. Very cool stuff! I can see it being super useful to me in the not-so-distant future.

ECMAScript excitement 😉 Next week's TC39 meeting has a packed agenda: 🔼 Amount 🔼 Array.prototype.pushAll 🔶 AsyncContext 🔶 Await Dictionary 🔼 Import Bytes 🔶 Intl Era Month Code 🔼 Iterator Chunking 🔶 new Global() 🔼 Non-extensible applies to private 🔼 Promise Adoption 🔼 Promise Predicate 🔶 Temporal

I’m so excited to update my iPad to iPadOS 26 - those macOS-like desktop features look sick. I’ll probably wait for the public beta though, because I use my iPad way too much to brick it ;)

The macOS 26 Containerization API and Container CLI look super cool! I haven’t done a deep dive yet, but it seems like for most people it’ll be an *almost* drop-in replacement for Docker. I hope that it one day leads to actual macOS containers. But the goal for now is just Linux containers.

Now we’ve finished Mario Kart World… what do we do? I know… time to put it back in a box for long term storage! Jk, gonna see if Animal Crossing runs better on this than how I remember it on the OG Switch.

🇺🇸🫡 We're proud to be American! Starting today, users will see the Gulf of America in Maps. Thank you, President Trump!

Damn, Cloudflare is killing it right now. This week, every night, I’ve looked forward to spamming refresh on their blog homepage at 1am, and subsequently not being able to get to sleep because I’m stuck in a loop of thinking of all the cool stuff I can now do with it.

Certainly something I expected, but was very happy to finally see, was D1 read replicas. And something I was happy to hear was coming very soon was Cloudflare Containers. The eng team is really killing it with everything else announced too!

Fixed! Disney+ support fixed the issue. Their system thought my IP address was located in the US for some weird reason. It’s not changed or anything (it’s a static IP). They have a process for overriding the location of an IP in their system - sweet! So now I can finally watch the Kardashians 🙌

I feel bad for blaming my sisters… I don’t think it’s them at all - after more digging, it appears that all my devices seem to make Disney+ think I’m in Santa Clara 🤦‍♂️ Idk if it’s my IP, or something else, but literally whenever I connect a new device to my account it emails me telling me[…]

Disregard this… I think one of my sisters has used a VPN and accidentally switched our account to a different region 🤦‍♂️ Damn it… how do I switch it back? Haha

Any NZer also seeing a change to the Disney+ app recently? In my app they renamed Star to Hulu and added ESPN(+). My very brief search couldn’t tell me whether this is intended or my app’s just bugged thinking it’s in the US or something? Cool if it’s real - coz there’s lots more content now.
