Really feeling the hit to freelancing at the moment. A lot of leads (smaller businesses) have dried up fast, as they just now go for some generated site they just run through a site builder. I don't like AI's impact on the world and seeing contract work require it. Not sure what to do anymore.

I also used to get a lot of recommendations on Twitter, but left when it became X and haven't found the same expanse of community on here. Lot of feels going on today.

When working with React don't forget that buttons/anchors don't exist and to make everything a div with an on-click event. That sounds top-notch. (this is sarcasm, please don't do this).

Does anyone have any recommendations for freelance PPC/Marketing advisors for a small business? New client looking to help guide their business and needing someone that can help with ad campaigns.

Enjoying the **last** #AllDayHey. The biggest thing I get from events, that I can't get from anywhere else: people who care about the things I care about. I'm always nervous attending, worrying I'll be alone, and it never goes that way. But it's always okay. See you at the next event, right?

My music playlists are so jarring sometimes, listening to some heavy screamo song followed by a soundtrack from a musical. Both absolute bangers.

Mad that vanilla CSS has come so far, what I used to write overly complex mixins for in Sass, is now just native and works in all browsers with one line. (side throwback to writing tables for layouts..)

Seems a bit mad it's taken me 2.5 years to get blinds in my office, but I may be able to finally work now without being blinded by the sun in the aft.

I'm a newer convert to @astro.build (last 6 months) but it's so lush. Launched a few production sites using it, alongside the Cloudflare adapter, and it scaffolds out lightweight front-ends with ease. Should have done this earlier...

Realized today I follow Yorkshire Tea, and then was completely offended by the new Tea offerings.

TWO NEW TEAS!! Sorry for shouting. We're just a bit giddy. One tastes like cake. One tastes like pudding. Both taste like tea, because they are tea. More details 👇

✨ I just published a new blog post about a nifty lil’ animation technique: sprites! Sprites are used all the time in video games, but they’re less common on the web. We do have the tools to manage it in CSS, but there’s a gotcha. In this post, I share some of the cool use cases I’ve found:

joshwcomeau.comSprites on the Web • Josh W. ComeauIn game development, it’s common to use spritesheets for animation, but this technique isn’t as widely used on the web. Which is a shame, because we can do some pretty cool stuff with sprites! In this...
