This is Carolyn Marvin, the writer of When Old Technologies Were New. A very sick move by a theorist of technology.

Big Walk will not be coming to Xbox "in accordance with the Palestinian-led BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement’s call to boycott Microsoft," per developer House House. BDS previously designated Microsoft as a boycott target, and called on users to boycott Xbox products in April 2025.

This one is meaningful to me as my daughter posed for the reference using the SAME yellow wrap Ang used for Brainstorm back in 1999! Also, (with thanks to Scott M Fischer for loaning me his compressor) the old airbrush came out of retirement for the glowing glyphs, just as I'd done back in '99! 🎨

hi it is time for the annual hallowstream now twitch.tv/katbamkapow

The first version of my Morrowind mod that adresses gender imbalance in every single village(that needed it) is now available. Big settlements & DLC towns are coming next, but might take a while. A total of 32 NPCs were gender swapped. www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mo...

I like seeing the dev of the SNES core on the Pocket actually telling one of these dudes off. Holy shit.

i need to get off social media for a while because seeing the apologism, and the same awful crowd it is coming out of, is too hard right now. i’m sharing this to the top of my timeline again, before leaving... i told the truth. www.nathalielawhead.com/candybox/abu...

you already know (after some delay) what's up (steam sale rec thread is what's up) as always, i focus primarily on older, obscure, or just plain weirder games, as big name titles don't tend to need the help. with that said, onwards!

The MWO GRF-5M is broken. They should probably emergency patch it. They must not have checked it's output with 4 AC2, b/c 20 dps at 1.1km optimal shouldn't be in the game on a medium mech. They spent half a year nerfing the assault EXE-B-C for having those stats.

33 years ago today, the Stranger stepped onto the dock of Myst Island for the first time. We can still hear the water splashing against the pilings.

New Post: Why I Love AI Next month it'll be twenty years since I went to university, learned to program, and studied AI. I wrote about why I loved it, why I still love it, and why, unfortunately, it no longer exists. www.possibilityspace.org/blog/posts/i...

It's a shame to become usefully awake right in the middle of a meeting.

this is kind of directly downstream from allowing these betting apps to act like they are securities markets, because of course "making bets with borrowed money" is a feature that already exists on Robinhood

"borzoi" really sounds like a kind of mobile suit, doesn't it?
