Today on board: eloop.org eloop conference started in 2016 as a one-day meeting of hackers that have to deal with enterprise IT. It features tales from the world of cooperate networking, security and processes. Over the course of time, many talks have drifted towards enterprise security (fails).

#DeGoogled Maps? Yes, it's possible. 📍🗺️ The Big Tech does not need to track your every step 👉 Use a Google Maps alternative instead.  ✅ Organic Maps ✅ OsmAnd ✅ CoMaps Find out which open source maps are available: tuta.com/blog/google-... #GoogleMaps #GoogleMapsAlternative

How to grow atproto? My current thoughts... microblogging where BSKY started is one of the SMALLER social media categories. X has ~650M monthly users, Threads 400M+. WhatsApp alone has ~3B 😳

what do yall think are the most impactful things we could do in the Bluesky app to support atproto builders?

Yesterday there where echoes of @getdweb.net camp at @berlinfediday.berlin.social.ap.brid.gy by @cypherhippie.bsky.social Awesome to see AT Protocol and ActivityPub getting closer together and join the fight against centralisation instead of wasting energy with infighting - this is the way!

last time the US did this, we had 700k covid deaths because bolsonaro refused to get vaccines in time and before that, we spent 24 years in a dictatorship; our latest democracy is only 38 years old and it's being threatened once again we cannot let another bolsonaro be the president again

This is as egregious as it's hilarious. Can we *please* get DMA horizontal interoperability for social media @teresaribera.ec.europa.eu, the European social internet is more than ready, we just need an open market to compete in.

Suw@suw.bsky.social

Fucking hell. Facebook is now limiting the number of links that a page or professional profile can include in a post to TWO PER MONTH, unless you pay them $7.99 a month. Fucking assholes.

Update: we’ve taken the Eurosky content service (appview) offline to make improvements, we’ll update here when it’s back. A reminder that this is still in development and may be unreliable for some time.

There is a special kind of joy in using an app that doesn’t demand your phone number, legal name, contacts, location and childhood memories before letting you continue.

A healthy privacy community leaves room for beginners. No purity tests. No mocking people for using the “wrong” tool. No demand to replace their entire digital life overnight. Help someone make one meaningful change. Then help them make another.

For the love of Eris, whenever someone talks to you about the autonomous hacking LLMs breaking containment and coordinating, please have them read this thread.

Once you understand the corporate culture of AI hyperscalers is everyone cooking their brains by locking themselves in the bathroom, holding flashlights under their chins, and saying "Aaaaaaaaaay Eyeeeeeee" until they wet themselves in terror, things snap into focus: pluralistic.net/2023/06/04/a...

bluesky, i need your feedback we're making some changes to the design/UX of @bsky38.com's login screen after 2 years of experimenting, my current hunch is that an atmosphere login screen needs to *look* and *feel* like a traditional multi-provider login screen which of these do you like best?
