I do not regret to inform you that we are going to win

In other words: “You brown people should be grateful to live in a country where the vice-president calls you weasels in public”

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

JD Vance calls El-Sayed "a little weasel who should shut his mouth and show a little gratitude"

El-Sayed’s answer to this horseshit question is perfect. It leans into the promise that America has always made. We haven’t achieved what America is supposed to be, but El-Sayed understands what we should strive for in a way that Republicans (and complicit legacy media) never will. 1/3

'heated' tommy works as a staffer for josh hawley and is a christian nationalist this is how the contemporary far right operate. they ask a bad faith question in a public forum and then their billionaire owned legacy media outlets reframe the response given in the most disingenuous way imaginable

The headline re-asserts the horseshit framing of the question. Abdul El-Sayed is a smart, down to earth American who wants to pursue the ideals this country is supposed to be about. The headline ignores his words. It assumes that we worry he’s a terrorist because he’s a Muslim. 2/3

I wish more Americans heard this full back and forth. Many would understand what the “simple question” implies, and see this Democratic candidate for Senate speaking with the courage of his convictions. 3/3

People also cant believe there is such a thing as “cell rent.” 41 states have it & even if you leave early states like FL make you pay the TOTALITY of your original stay. One Black woman was billed $127,000 ($50 a day for 2,555 days) for the full 7 years of her sentence despite only staying 10 mos

Wanna know what fetal personhood is? It's giving fertilized eggs, embryos, and fetuses a constitutional right to life which competes with the pregnant person's. Then a medical decision can become a fight between two “people,” w/ the state acting as referee. Guess who loses? (The pregnant person.)

The government *still* isn’t tracking how often immigration agents detain U.S. citizens. We are. 500+ Americans have been handcuffed, held at gunpoint or held against their will in Trump’s second term. Our tally is almost certainly an undercount. THREAD (content warning: violence) ⬇️

Relative got a $500 check from US Treasury and a shocking letter full of lies signed by Trump and ending with "May God bless you". Basically a pre-electoral bribe. News reports say they're sending almost a million of these. Full text in alt below. (I told him to cash it quick before it bounces.)

Holy shit is AI tulips?

Nicholas Grossman@nicholasgrossman.bsky.social

AI is now the biggest investment in all of US history as a percentage of GDP. Datacenter construction is up, all other construction is down. "AI Is Squeezing Out the Rest of the Stock Market," reported WSJ 2 days ago. We basically bet the whole economy on the most optimistic visions panning out.
