Has the Australian mainstream media reflected at all on their own role in this? Someone should write a piece on the numerous times radio shock jocks and breakfast tv and late night tv commentators have promoted violence against politicians or public figures. #auspol #media #VAW #racism #HelenHaines

This is why my puzzle games are on a Samsung Galaxy S3 with no SIM & permanently in flight mode

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

This a million times. People of colour being dragged on to debate maniacs about imaginary labels & race science is an abomination. proper ‘how German are you’ Nazi shit Note that people like me with white migrant parentage never asked to defend our identity Englishness. Is. A. Made. Up. Thing

Sathnam Sanghera@sathnam.bsky.social

Dear tv and radio producers. Thankyou for the invitation. But, no, I do not want to appear on your show to defend the idea that I am English, after 50 years of living and working here, because the increasingly feral right want to turn this into a "debate" and you cannot see how you're being played

The article is just as justifiably venomous as the headline and worth a read. Fuck this guy. I hope the next time I'm forced to look at his name there are a pair of dates beneath it.

One year today since my last day at my last job. 365 days. Time goes so fast - so today, I want you to do something that's 100% just for you.

Granddaughter is visiting from Qld - 2.5 hours in, we have crocheted a granny-hexagon cardigan for Penny Pony

Saw Rogue Trooper today at Beyond Fest. 11/10! The best possible expression of the lone clone! I don’t know what we did to deserve something this good. @manmademoon.bsky.social You nailed it, sir! 👍

This is extremely, extremely good.

England is a made up thing. It has no basis in the ineluctable laws of nature. Its extent is defined by Edward II getting his arse handed to him. Athelstan conquering York. The Welsh of Cumbria were incorporated, the Welsh of Gwynedd were not. It is a political idea, an aspiration - not taxonomy.

Jacob Rees-Mogg, the most stereotypically Tory conservative man of the 21st Century, responded to Suella Braverman with a long-form video criticizing her position and rejecting a race-based theory of Englishness, and in response has been ratioed by the increasingly feral British online far-right.

Sums it up really. Why are there no laws for ai while everyone else has them?

Greg Jericho@grogsgamut.bsky.social

Concern? How about arrest the f*cker?? Cripes. If you or I hacked Medicare, the AFP would bash down our doors. AI does it? Oopsies! I am concerned! www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Truly this thread is the best absurdist thriller novel I have read this year

lol my flight got diverted because of a medical emergency and they landed us in reykjavik in the middle of the night and deplaned us and sent us through passport control and then the crew vanished and then british airways sent us links to book an overnight hotel room but for a hotel at heathrow

The Discworld novels saved my sanity in 1994 & are still a huge source of comfort & amusement to me (& there are so many more of them) in 2026. Terry Pratchett was a far better writer & an exponentially better person than She who must not be named.

James Longstrider@jameslongstrider.bsky.social

Hear hear! If you want wizards, witches, magic and fantasy by a British author, pick up a Terry Pratchett book~ (he was also a huge ally)

1Password faced immediate backlash from customers this week over a $300,000 pledge in support of a Linux distro created by David Heinemeier Hansson, who has regularly published overtly racist blog posts that include comments calling for deportation of ethnic minorities in Europe.
