The point of concept art is not to translate the perfect idea in Peter Molyneux's head onto paper. It's to come up with a BETTER idea than what is in Peter Molyneux's head because he's not necessarily a brilliant visual artist

NEW: Remedy's latest game, Control Resonant, is filled with art galleries. The galleries are filled with real art When I began talking to Remedy about it, I was delighted to discover who the artists are: many are the game developers' parents My story... www.gamefile.news/p/control-re...

gamefile.newsWho made the art inside Control Resonant? When the developers of Control Resonant needed to fill their video game version of New York City with art galleries, they tapped the talents of people they knew particularly well

Currently working on the image upload stuff for my CMS, which is only around a year late (look, it’s been a weird year)

I’m sure Apple will manage to make the Duo reasonably robust, but we get 5-7 years of daily use out of each iPhone between us (then becomes a test device) & none have ever broken, there’s no way it’s getting anywhere near that

Left: President Trump insults Norway calling it a sh*thouse country Right: Visit Norway, the tourism board, trolls President Trump, displaying some of their best toilets on their Instagram 😅

Just noticed that in one of the Crisp Sandwich Day photos someone posted you can see my hands gesturing to explain something while the person next to me looks like they’re dozing off

the UK has the loosest gambling laws in Europe and let me tell you: this is one of the things that is killing every. thing. else. property greed is the other. but gambling is destroying high streets, areas, social cohesion; if you don't live in an area infested with slot arcades you don't get it

Mezentine@mezentine.bsky.social

I think we underestimate the appeal of antigambling politics because every problem gambler is surrounded by 3-10 people who are absolutely sick of their shit.

trying this "tiny computer" app on my duo, and it's such a fun idea. yet i've also never felt more attacked. this whole app is nerd bait. this was created by someone who has never used any of these computers once but has a claude subscription. type 'paint' to launch a drawing GUI on my c64. c'mon.

Jojo’s thrashing the hell out of the toy I got her in London (it’s a cauldron with an eyeball creature that can be stuffed in it)

There was this time Cleveland did a balloon release event and the tv news portentously declared "the Mistake on the Lake no more!" and then when the wind turned unexpectedly, the balloonfall became a disaster and the airport shut down and there were fatalities. Anyway this event has now been outdone

this is maybe the hardest anyone's ever fucked up in the history of ohio

Romulus was a bit of a greatest hits remix like The Force Awakens, & had one unforgivably stupid line of dialogue, but the cast was good and it did feel like an entertaining fresh start Whereas Covenant was rather dreary & pointless filmstories.co.uk/news/alien-r...

filmstories.co.ukAlien | Romulus abandoned, as screenwriter hired for Alien: Covenant follow-onRidley Scott is overseeing the next Alien film, and a writer has been hired as the franchise lurches back in Alien: Covenant's direction.

Yesterday was the biggest Crisp Sandwich Day so far in terms of people posting pics etc, next year I probably should set up a proper gallery system & world map to tick off countries

If I had lots more money I’d hire someone to wear a sandwich costume & do public/TV/radio appearances, get actors to tell bullshit personal stories about why crisp sandwiches mean so much to them, etc

I’d thought Sunday might be a tough day of the week, people aren’t online as much & will have plans etc, but could’ve been wrong, will be interesting to see if getting back to a weekday helps or hinders

Incredible work from HappyToast as ever

Halloween inspired Monster Munch tower (pickled onion and ketchup on seeded granary) for #CrispSandwichDay @vole.wtf

Thought I’d better check if there’s any CSD stuff on ex-Twitter, immediately ran into an AI-generated crisp sandwich video, FFS

There’s now also a 5-second porn video too, might complain to them that it seemingly only features crisps WITH sandwiches

Not entirely sure how I feel about being pointed out as “the crisp sandwich day bloke” in a pub but I suppose there are worse things to be recognised for

Anyway, it was good to meet up with some fellow nerds, not been down this way for a long time & it gets me out the house

I should probably make a map for next year so countries can be ticked off

We’re back! The crisp sandwich station is restocked and we also have our usual Sunday cheeseboard. And great to see an international effort from @gdodds23.bsky.social - a salted butter flavour crisp sandwich at Seokguran, South Korea. #CrispSandwichDay

It’s even OK to call it a “chip sandwich” if you really must

Don’t let the Brits have all the fun. We need to start celebrating this important holiday here in the US.

People forget that back in the 90s, kids weren't on the computer all the time, they didn't have cell phones. Instead they watched the Beethoven dog movies

Slightly unsettling start to the day when I couldn’t get into my hosting (turns out they’ve had a problem & reset all the passwords)

Viscerally upset by the Beth Upton stuff. They won't be satisfied until they have hounded a woman – who the tribunal explicitly found had done nothing wrong – to her death. Btw the "incident" in Australia is that a patient worried she *might* be forced to be treated by her. She of course wasn't.

Before pneumatic tires became standard equipment, inventors really thought hard about how to get a softer ride. Here's the Peugeot Lion from 1892.
