I really wanted us to send one more person so I could joke that Essen is actually S.N. (Six Nerds), but Patrick said I can’t requisition “over a thousand dollars” to “take someone away from their job for two weeks” just for a post that would get “10 likes max.”

It always cracks me up that in the wake of the Monkees’ success Star Trek wanted to appeal to teenyboppers so they cast someone who was: - Only a couple years younger than the rest of the cast - Older than Sulu, in fact - Forced to wear a ridiculous Beatles wig - This guy:

see also; I don’t think about this thing at all but its creator sucks so I guess I’d better get on the hate train

"I hate this thing, but some of the worst people in the world also hate it for different reasons so I guess I need to keep this one to myself" is one of the defining experiences of modern life.

Let the philosophical arguments begin: can I say that I’ve played Blood On The Clocktower? All I did was close my eyes twice.

First film you saw at the cinema. The real first one, not the pretend one you tell people! Mine: The Empire Strikes Back, 1980, Wigan. We were near the front and I can still remember how massive the AT-ATs looked, looming over us out of the snow :) Film, year, where, and whatever stuck with you.

Social deduction games are so easy. Every time I play one I simply nominate the Werewolf for elimination and we instantly win the game in the first round.

The Shining is a film of many intricate layers. On the surface, it seems to be about a man slowly losing his sanity over the course of an isolated winter. But on a deeper level it's really about how it would be fun as all hell to ride your big wheel around a giant empty hotel.

The Shining began shooting in 1978, and at the end of the film (spoiler) there's a photo from 1921. That's a 57 year gap. If The Shining were made today, the photo at the end would be dated 1969, the year Paul Rudd was born.

you know this admin is so dumb and doubled-down on war that I think someone who was sufficiently motivated could get them to build us our first gundam

Do not fear the account that has posted one thousand board game jokes. Fear the account that has posted the same board game joke one thousand times.

The first time I saw Spirit Island it was at a convention right when it first came out. All I saw was this character as I passed the booth and I misread it as Fat Homeless Mud Of The Swamp. I completely avoided the game for weeks because I had a VERY incorrect idea about the type of game it was lol

At IKEA the other day I was walking behind a woman who was holding newborn twins, each one cradled on her side facing outward, and it was so fun to watch the reactions as people saw her and then clocked what she was carrying. Literally:

From Elmore Leonard’s Rum Punch (aka Jackie Brown). Max has fallen for Jackie but is self-conscious about his age. — "My last husband was fifteen years older than I am, about your age. I thought, Here’s one with some maturity. How wrong I was…” Max said, “I’m only twelve years older than you are.”
