I VERY seldom back crowdfunding projects, but @leder.games recent Kart (designed by Alita Robertson) and the upcoming Rebirth II by @mightyboards.bsky.social are two exceptions. It’s cool how one is by a first time designer and the other by an all time great. But they both look fantastic.

I know this is a "shitting post" but I legit had a publisher print 2-6 players on my game for 4-6 players. I had to scramble to come up with 2 and 3 player rules that ended up being not very good. I would later revisit and revise those rules and upgrade them to "OK"

One of the in-jokes in the video: "In my kart I start believing maybe we can touch the sky" is sung twice in the song. The first time, we see a fire extinguisher rocket contraption (one of the upgrade kard) fly by, bound for orbit. The second time, it's plummeting to Earth, on fire. That's Kart!

This is rad as hell.

I made this video! It was the most intricate video project I've ever worked on, and it meant pulling an all-nighter, but I'm so in love with the song Alligator Orchestra put together for Kart I really wanted to give it my all.

We're big fans of local Saint Paul band Alligator Orchestra. After hearing songs they wrote about Root, we commissioned them to record a Kart theme song. They came back with "Don't Look Down!", two minutes of raucous pop-punk that's perfect for Kart's reckless downhill races.

I'm thankful everyday that I'm unemployed.

I was just catching up with a former coworker from a previous corporate job. She told me the bosses were really excited about the watermarks that AI providers are now embedding in text output: “Now they can test what we send them to see if we’re really using the AI tools they forced on us.”

I told my nephew (5yo) that I am working with board games and he gave a look and told me “you look like you are working more than playing” and it hits me 😌🫩

We don’t play good games…we play OUR games…

When people learn that I work at a board game company one of their first questions is "Do you play board games at the office all day?" Which...yeah, we do, but that's really reductive. There are good parts of the job as well.
