Best day for democracy worldwide in quite some time: Brazil’s center-left president won the runoff in an upset, blocking the far-right from gaining unified power. Serbia’s right-wing authoritarian government finally lost control of parliament after more than a decade in power

Taniel@taniel.bsky.social

Lula has been reelected president, Brazilian media has now called. An extraordinary comeback for the left-wing politician who trailed by 2 points in round 1 but managed to hold off Flávio Bolsonaro, the former president's son.

Batteries. I’ve been a homeowner for over a decade and when I bought the house, my low carbon equipment options were a shitty plug in snowblower and a reel mower. I now have a whole set of Ego stuff, including a great mulching lawnmower and two stage snowblower. Charged by solar panels on my roof

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

⛱️ 🚨 new feed: Following Pool! It’s like the Following feed, but it randomizes the order of posts for a more typical “algorithmic feed” experience. If you like Following but don’t want to see posts in strict chronological order, give it a try!

and like, his entire family busts in with a cake to wish this fully nude man in the bathtub a happy birthday. his kids goof off with him a little, chit chat. legit bonkers stuff.

Riggs is supposed to be the crazy one but at the start of Lethal Weapon 1, Murtaugh is shown having a morning bath on a workday. That is absolutely insane behaviour

No Venture Bros? The Expanse?? List invalid. Band of Brothers out of the top 10 is pretty egregious too.

tickling the dragon’s tail with this take

I’m old enough to remember an online left that believed copyright is theft, information wants to be free, no one owns the commons, and the internet should be open. Pretty sure the consistent stance is LLMs are fine, they should be open source, and everyone should have free access to SOTA models

wake up, get online, the head of the fbi is defending bestiality on the floor of the senate that’s enough internet for the day already

PATEL: The previous regulation automatically disqualified any individual who participated in either side of it KENNEDY: Either side of beastiality? So you disqualified the animal? P: Well, we have great canines, but we're not going to disqualify them K: I'm trying to understand why you did this.

Not the main point but what the fuck is up with this picture? What is it trying to convey? Is the crow mixed into the mystery meat? Is the crow the one that put all those broken eggs on top of the ground beef? What’s with the diced vegetables? World’s shittiest steak tartare???

“.. the quintessence of generic industrial meat, imported here to be subsequently processed in massive grinders that combine pieces of tens of thousands of cattle from multiple countries, mainly into fast food hamburgers.” @nytopinion.nytimes.com www.nytimes.com/2026/09/07/o...

Boze Herrington, Library Owl@sketchesbyboze.bsky.social

Dolly Parton rose from poverty to stardom. She gave $500 to every student in her hometown who finished high school; she built hospitals & bald eagle preserves; her Imagination Library has gifted 300 million books to children. Roger Ebert met her and came away thinking she was a literal angel. RIP.

Dead from ass cancer at 32? Karma is definitely real.

Alternatively we can keep the chuds guessing with a nonsensical versioning scheme Woke 360 Woke One Woke One X Woke Series X If they didn’t like woke 1 they are going to *hate* Woke One

I think at this point we should move away from standard version numbering and go to yearly releases. It's not Woke 2, it's Woke 2026

Decisive? lol ok, just one more bombing campaign bro I swear just one more bombing campaign and it’ll end the war bro

Shipwreck@shipwreck75.bsky.social

US Central Command (CENTCOM) has prepared a large-scale operation in the form of a decisive two-week bombing campaign should Trump choose escalation to break the deadlock in the Middle East, two sources confirmed.-NYP

I do not want a subscription to a car wash. I do not want a subscription to a pest control company. I want to exchange money for services in a single transaction and then not think about you until I need you again. Are you insane.

No it’s cool the climate change accentuated heat wave was negated by the climate change accelerated Canadian wildfires pumping out enough smoke to blot out the sun in southern New England. The system works we’re fine

a cool moment -- Kaitlin Collins tells Brad Lander that he won his primary live on air during an interview with him. Lander responds by saying, "I'm thrilled. I did not expect to be on air when the race was called."

I think this captures the current moment of New York joy amidst federal angst in a way that is especially comprehensible to elder millennials like me Also, I would have absolutely watched this movie on WPIX every other weekend afternoon
