Cynic. Introverted. Looking for info and opinions of decent people who know more than I do. Please don’t add me to a starter pack. Really, I mentioned the introversion for a reason. Thank you.

While in Springfield last night, I polled the audience and asked how many of them early voted. Out of almost 150 people, almost every hand went up. LFG!!!

Real question: if a criminal and treasonous president pardons other criminals and traitors, are the pardons valid? Can you be pardoned from treason? Especially if you pardoned yourself and are convicted of treason? Maybe I don’t understand how pardons work. Can you still be indicted and tried?

SCOTUS blocked the USPS rule that Trump demanded in a bid to restrict mail voting. But a different USPS policy affecting when mail is postmarked could still pose obstacles. Experts say people should mail forms and ballots as early as they can.

boltsmag.orgIn an Intense Election Year, New Post Office Rules Could Trip Up Voter Registration - BoltsA change in how mail is postmarked could lead some voters to miss key deadlines, including voter registration. Advocates worry the people most affected will be those already facing voting barriers.

Detainees at ICE's Folkston detention center in Georgia say a Mexican national has taken his own life. Detainees heard the man screaming in pain while being held in solitary confinement. Then, the screams stopped. He is the 60th person to die in ICE custody under Trump. More to come...

For our closing argument we turn to our candidate's strongest endorser, the kitten-killing enabler of child rape.

There was a school shooting in Oregon on Wednesday. This motherfucker didn’t even have thoughts and prayers.

The rich forget that they don’t know how to do laundry or shop for groceries or even where to shop for groceries. If we all die, they’re going to starve to death stinking of BO.

The EPA is planning to repeal the pollution limits set on power plants. This would accelerate the climate crisis, increasing pollution, illness and premature death, as well as exacerbating environmental injustice. Join us in submitting your comments to the EPA here: dayenu.org/epa-power-pl...

The NY Post is calling this art installation in Tehran, featuring a performer dressed as Trump in a mock jail cell, “sickening.” Surely they jest.

found out that my mother in law decided she was aggressively pro trans rights literally by going, I don't know anything about this but everyone who is against trans rights is also against free school lunch, the issue I know and care a lot about, so this must be the correct way to feel about this

This is beautiful and caring and everything you should read today. I was so pissed at McConaughy’s announcement. How dare he? He doesn’t live a regular life? He’s beautiful and an amazing actor and so insulated from real life… @charlotteclymer.bsky.social

The DFL (and Amy Klobuchar) should consider hiring someone versed in reproductive justice. Are the people running their social media ok with banning abortion for the most common reasons people have one?

Carolyn (she/her)@carolynlb.bsky.social

I am once again asking DFLers to stop using the "even in cases of rape or incest" when discussing #reprorights. Say "My opponent would ban abortion." Period. That's it. Relatedly: SAY THE WORD ABORTION.

The president shouting "fake news" is bad enough, but the FCC commissioner threatening to punish broadcasters for promoting "fake news" like "the president is historically unpopular" is so much worse. Add this clown to the list of officials who need to be impeached and removed.

Kevin Collier @kevincollier.bsky.social

In any other admin, this would probably be the most outrageous official statement ever made by a sitting FCC director: Strongly implying that the government forbids broadcast networks from reporting on the president's falling poll numbers. (Sorry to paste from twitter but that's where he posts.)

Mike Johnson is relying on his faith to hold control of the House. So if he loses control of the House, we can all reasonably conclude that God dislikes Mike Johnson as much as the rest of us.

I wonder if we could convince his staff to lie about the election results and redirect him back to slaughtering the 100-year-old cherry trees in DC. Maybe we’d get a little peace for a day or two.

Morgan J Freeman@mjfree.bsky.social

FACT CHECK: Trump says his rallies are suddenly “making a difference” and cites Ken Paxton. There’s just one problem: TALARICO IS STILL LEADING PAXTON IN THE POLLING AVERAGES. Even FOX NEWS’ own poll has Talarico ahead. Trump declaring he’s winning doesn’t make it true.

It would actually be a waste of time to try and work with a president that doesn't follow laws anyway. It would be stupid and pointless. Congress needs to reassert its authority. bsky.app/profile/path...

Apologia and accomodationism. A Dem House can impeach hundreds of times for every crime of every official & should. B/c it's their duty & legislation is impossible since Trump doesn't follow laws. Whether the Senate convicts is immaterial. Pressure should be on Republicans. Stop helping them.

My dude. Do you like the road that your house faces? What about trash service or water? What about the other actual real government services that your city or county provides with that revenue no matter how much you may still owe on a mortgage? Look outside your bubble, man.
