Look, I know all the reasons we got here, but we really need to start seriously thinking about what we do in a world where The Markets punish whole countries for voting for decency, compassion, and fairness. We must stop pretending the capitalist machine is an objective, value neutral force.

It's very, very telling, I think, that the markets are so concerned about the pro-democracy incumbent winning

I spent all day writing the thread in my head about how Bolsonaro's win was the culmination of a 20-year project to end Brazilian democracy, with the participation of both domestic elites and foreign actors like the US state department and Meta. This is all true, of course, except he didn't win.

Congrats to Lula on overcoming Mark Zuckerberg and Donald Trump to defeat Hospital Pervert Jr., even as his opposition literally blocked off roads and turned off bus service during election day. Fascists are scary but they are always, 100% of the time, ultimately gigantic fucking losers.

Three years ago, my dad said that all fish are the same shape. Out of spite, I decided to draw all 478 families of bony fish listed in Nelson 2016. There's still some stuff I need to edit and some fish I want to redraw but, after 985 days, I finished my big dumb fish project last night.

I don't want to be forced to disclose what I put in my burgers bc making them with rat meat is so much better for my bottom line as a small food business

Why is Tim Sweeney such a turd? How do you put that to paper and think: “yeah, this seems like a reasonable thing to say after so many people lost their jobs…”

Here's an example in motion. You can see the signs/awnings streaking horizontally, as well as the muddy halo around the brown utility poles and the brick buildings against the blue sky. The narrow poles/trees also sort of take on whatever large field of color is behind to them. Low-res chroma, baby.

Tzschk, but spooky@tzschk.bsky.social

Since our eyes are more sensitive to contrast in brightness, color is sent at a lower bandwidth to preserve image quality. This is why you see the colors "bleed" horizontally, even when the brightness is crisp; streaks of color cut into desaturated areas, narrow columns of color wash out, etc. 4/6

What Microsoft, EA and other dogshit publishers are doing is nothing short of cultural vandalism… Bioware was an industry titan not long ago, ran into the ground by absolute clowns. Fuck these companies and duck their CEOs

A US lawmaker has announced plans to introduce a new bill that would give gamers ownership of the games they buy 🎮 The Power To The Players Act would require publishers to make games playable offline before shutting down their servers

This is: “We’re killing all our game studios Konami.” “We’re focusing all our investment in gambling Konami.” How tf are they the publisher to make the right call here?

Some visual development work for a personal project while I build up my portfolio more. Concept is that of a sci-fi outpost in a forest. 3D blockout with Blender and then painted a few variations in Photoshop. Always enjoy exploring different lighting conditions with the same subject(s).
