It's a community effort that got approval from Ubisoft and support from Valve. It's free if you own the original game and it can be installed separately. They plan to release it this year and bring us the original campaign with some new features, more extra content wil be added.

It combines the best aspects of the PC version and console version, and almost every extra feature is optional. GOG version is unlikely since Ubisoft hasn't put the original game on that platform yet, but you can vote for it on GOG Dreamlist here: www.gog.com/dreamlist/ga...

I still use the term a lot because: - I believe my mutuals and followers are the core audience for it - I usually mention a game’s actual genre (stealth, fps-rpg, etc.) If I ever get hired to market an immersive sim (to general audiences), I’ll throw the term out of the window.

The fact that Tim, even when he was much younger, rebellious, and eager, could already not feel sadness for a beacon of game design & development innovation and creativity going under when he could back smugness with "economically realistic" explains so much of why Epic is where it is right now.

Finished Odd Town. It was shorter and more linear than I expected, story is a bit cliche, gameplay is goofy enough to support 3-4 hours of fun. The town feels complex but doesn't go beyond a web of roads and shops, not much to explore. (1/2)

The AI-assisted writing should have been fully revised or properly disclosed ahead of launch. It's a lose-lose situation but I'm not going to continue beating myself up for it. I apologize if I misled anybody. Buy on a sale after it becomes more human. (2/2)

I'm dealing with generative AI on a daily basis, as a consumer, as a moderator, as an artist, the moral dilemma and the effort to detect, inquire, make decisions sometimes on other people’s behalf have really taken a toll on me.

I hate generative AI so much, but I also hate myself for not being a fully anti generative AI person. My materialist worldview leaves me awkwardly hanging in the middle, unconsciously finding arguments for both sides.

Summer Eternal's first game, Red Rooster, combines "the best of cerebral, worldbuilding-rich RPGs with the genetics of physics-driven immersive sims". Summer Eternal is co-founded by former Disco Elysium writers Argo Tuulik and Dora Klindžić.

I think I've experienced everything Militsioner demo has to offer, though two achievements are unobtainable, and there are some minor problems: 1 - as a roguelite, you can lock yourself out of some dialog options for later runs, you can lose important single-use items if you die

and in terms of exploration, the closest comparison is probably Deathloop. If you loved finding hidden areas that Deathloop didn't tell you to and if you'd love to mess around an intricate town while playing hide-n-seek with or dating a sad giant, you're going to love Militsioner

I think I've experienced everything Militsioner demo has to offer, though two achievements are unobtainable, and there are some minor problems: 1 - as a roguelite, you can lock yourself out of some dialog options for later runs, you can lose important single-use items if you die

2 - as a "dating simulator", it's too easy to manipulate the giant police's mood: give coffee -> he's energized to help you open areas, give spoiled food -> he's sad and floods the town, give flower -> he'll eventually fall in love; and his mood changes stall after fully upgraded

3 - as an immersive sim, the interactivity is pretty limited: you can use bricks to destroy wooden planks/doors/windows or knock out NPCs; you can press a button to open doors, drop ladders, put in batteries... It's an exploration-heavy pacifist game with lots of locked gates,

Surprisingly, it's a roguelite. I’ve tried every escape route but barely scratched the surface of the demo’s content. Half of the map is still gated behind curiosity-driven exploration, day-and-night cycle, paid unlocks, or when the giant police is in a good/bad mood…
