I do not want it in my book On in the recipes I cook I do not want it in my art Not even just a sketch to start Not for emails day or night Nor searches that aren't even right I do not want your AI slop I need you all to fucking stop.

how all of these conversations would actually go

Philip Bump@pbump.com

Even if this were viable as a concept (that there's an afterlife; that it allows conversations with others; that enslavers are going the same place as you), who cares? Oh, are you mad at me, Ben Franklin? Tough shit.

The first Gen AI ad I saw that showed a use case scenario was a person had to read a screenplay and then didn't, so they trick the person they're meant to do this for into thinking they did. The entire purpose of this technology is to trick people and it turns out no one likes being tricked.

KetAnthropic JoshAI@ketanjoshi.co

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

The Supreme Court burns to the ground in Albania, Parliament and the Department of Education has been stormed, the Prime Minister is in hiding and the country is effectively in the hands of the rebels. Albania rejects blatant corruption and their country being sold.

obviously many more important takeaways from the French approach to protest, but much respect to the absolute varsity level Whimsy of throwing a whole ass piano at the cops

Damn, good on you, Shyamalan. Even when the guy puts out something that's Not Very Good, at least it's actually something that comes from him, something born of himself, and I'd rather have that than AI anyday, so I'm glad he gets it. Also, as an aside, Knock at the Cabin is fucking great.

M. Night Shyamalan's YouTube channel (which is something he has now) came out of nowhere with this great line.

Love that some execs are paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and yet still need to do studies to determine that teaching people how to do their jobs well makes them better at doing their jobs.

Employers worldwide are pulling back on AI as they navigate a flood of errors and low-quality work that sap employee time, raise privacy and security risks, and drive up costs

"Why are games taking so much longer and costing so much more to make?" "Hey guys. For our new game, we've modeled each individual hair on every NPC's head." "Oh."

I want to be explicit that Mark Zuckerberg, on the softest of softball podcasts, admitted he invested all this capex without really knowing whether any of it would work, shortly after his tech guy said that he had been repeatedly told “hey this better fucking work” by the CFO at an offsite

Ed Zitron@edzitron.com

This is the shit you love to hear just as everybody is feeling extremely anxious about the opaque ROI of AI and specifically AI capex in Meta’s case. You want a story where your CFO says “it will be really bad if you’re wrong about this”

Saw a take that said "if you're against AI we're reaching a point where that means not using software" and, well, we can argue about whether mass abandonment of tech could actually happen but I've seen enough Butlerian Jihad references to know people are fed up enough to at least fantasize about it.

We're at a point where the tech industry is feeling like an outright villain, whether it's actually achievable or not "stop using software" doesn't seem like it sounds all that terrible to people right now.

i know a lot of people have chosen to leave the poison swamp that inflicts constant tick damage but since the Plague Baron stopped casting Rain of Putrefaction so often its gotten way better. plus all of the important conversations about rot and pestilence are happening there

this really is just the logical endpoint of the like decade plus of bad faith localization discourse where people would just pretend you can take idioms and wordplay from other languages and swap it to english wholesale

this article is really good with a lot of well researched interviews and perspectives and context as to what was going on in the studio. but sometimes. sometimes there's really only one sentence that speaks louder than all the others

Hearing Pac died threw me off hard and I'm just a wrestling fan. The people who knew him are definitely feeling ten times worse. I hope they get through their grieving alright. What an awful loss.

Hey, y'all. "Innocent until proven guilty" is a term intended for the court system, where a defendant isn't guilty 'til a trial finds them to be so. It doesn't mean that you don't use your own fucking common sense & good judgment to stay away from bad people. You're not imprisoning them. Thanks.

Really naive position for a Rolling Stone writer. Never met someone who doesn't like country? I've always rather hated it. It shouldn't be a shock a guy who primarily listens to punk, rock, synth and metal wouldn't hear a top country hit. Cultural cachet? Geddouddaheah. I'm a nobody, what cachet?

Denny Carter@dennycarter.bsky.social

This kind of take made a Rolling Stone writer so mad they wrote a whole piece about it.

DoorDash spent $1.4M trying to stop Zohran Mamdani from becoming mayor. This week's historic $131.5M enforcement action against DoorDash for underpaying NYC delivery workers shows why. Yet another reminder that the only thing that can beat organized money is organized people.
