Just finished @adhd-alien.bsky.social's book. Have never felt so seen by someone else going through their experiences. From now on I will be seeing my emotions as cats. My partner has in the past used our cats behaviour to help us understand our own Autistic & ADHD traits, so that stuck with me.

We’ve been working on this for a while, felt quite daunting as there is so much to cover. But, after attending an event last week where I had a very rough time through their lack of info, I was spurred to finish it. Thank you @schnumn.bsky.social and Leeds Special Autism Services for their input!

Yo this was so good. Im one of those types that cries easily but there were so many spots that were uncomfortably familiar. Fully recommend even if youre an adult diagnosis like me, or you’re trying to learn about ADHD for a loved one.

I just finished @adhd-alien.bsky.social’s wonderful book! While I already knew a lot, this helped me understand a few more things about myself. Plus it’s a handy source to throw at people for the basics with real world examples.

To bring this back to the book, it resonates so deeply with my experience that I am very literally brought to tears by scenes like this - the absolute heartbreak of someone hating themself for never seeming to be enough.

This morning I got my copy of @adhd-alien.bsky.social 's Feeling Like an ADHD Alien. I'm already a hundred pages in and alternating between crying and running upstairs to show my husband pages that explain my brain better than I've ever been able to. 💙
