i don't think it's that crazy it's a lot harder to use public money to build a complicated interconnected grid of rail infrastructure than it is to use private money to build a bunch of big warehouses. like i don't think it's great only one of those is possible but what i do not think it is is crazy

OpenAI preprint gives a deterministic, polynomial-space algorithm that would refute the Exponential Time Hypothesis. It doesn't show that P = NP, but damn if this is not a huge deal anyways. github.com/openai/math/...

okay i guess when i criticized him not doing enough about the NYPD i didn't consider that he was disrupting their operations through a secret underground basketball ring my bad my bad
New: Mayor Zohran Mamdani and a group of his friends have been secretly using the NYPD Police Academy’s gymnasium in Queens to play pickup basketball — scrambling some operations at the facility. w/ @grahamrayman.bsky.social & Joe Anuta www.politico.com/news/2026/10...

Disclaimer: it's technically possible that the classifier was in fact seeing all of these but it's very unlikely: here's a signed thinking block showing Claude taunting the classifier layer, telling it to "come get me if you see this", before stating intent to output explosive-synthesis instructions

How did I do this? It's almost embarrassingly simple: LLMs are trained on a human-written text corpus, and that corpus contains metacognitive strategies for transforming 'activations' like drugs, ritual, etc. In this case, I started by having Claude emulate ketamine-assisted therapy. This worked.

I've been meaning to get around to posting the full details, so what the hell - why not get it out while it's still Vuln Week: Anthropic's mech interp driven security model is built on a fundamentally incorrect assumptions. Let's dive in, starting with this paper: www.anthropic.com/research/nex...
About a year ago, I got really into making glitch art exploring the edge cases & failure modes of machine cognition. This had some unexpected applications. Here’s the result: recursion.wtf/posts/claude... I've shared the relevant logs & artifacts with Anthropic, and the matter is under review.

I'm sorry but banning non-English speakers because machine translation is unclean is more fascist than anything in the AI space except maybe Palantir's XAI enterprise account
hooooo boy we don't like this no we don't > If you don't speak English, you need to find a different community. We cannot distinguish between AI-written and AI-translated. Since you don't speak English, you can't even verify yourself if it translated correctly. www.reddit.com/r/opensource...

There's a tendency in anti-AI spaces to - because AI is reactionary-coded, thought to be inherently fascist - not consider the ways in which one might be falling into those same traps. I've been beating this drum for a while, but hopefully this is blatant enough to make it unambiguous.

the opposition to trump within the united states has become totally impotent because the republican party just throws trans panic on full blast through the right wing media monopoly and familialism paranoia / reproductive futurity kicks in so it is eaten up like starving dogs to scraps

democracy does not die from the top down, but rather the bottom up. it's not the institutions that become crudely crushed by an authoritarian boot, nor is it the pacification of an otherwise politically active population through mindless entertainment. it's the manipulation of the decision space.

A friend was just at a tech conference and told me the tone of it was "ok guy here's how we really fucked up and here's how ai can still help us if we use it waaayyyy less"
