PC EULA. If you accept this eula, you are saying you like to play online games, and you really like to read long and boring agreements on how you will play online and accept all of our policies and agreements.

Hello fellow BC-ers. I know it's annoying we have ANOTHER election we have to vote in this weekend and that the NDP have been pretty ineffectual so far. But I honestly think if the Conservatives win, things will be so much worse. Regardless of how you feel and the party you support, please VOTE!

Btw for those wondering, haven’t posted screenshots much but Magic School Lunar is still strolling on nicely towards a beta test phase.

The thing about translation news sites like RHDN is that they represent *curation* - ways for people to make sense of what's happening in the scene, what's happening out there. RHDN's "just take everything" stance is breaking down in the face this much spam.

Krokodyl@krokodyl.bsky.social

I looked through the last 100 English fan translations published on RHDN (over 3 weeks), and at least 74 are AI translations. I didn't realize this was the current state of the hobby. Make of that what you will.

What people need right now is a way to make sense of what the translations that are out there *are*, what they contain, if they're any good or not. RHDN's not meeting the moment.

Adding onto this - low quality, low effort translations are in no way new in the scene. But we're seeing a tidal wave of them compared to the pace at which they appeared in the past. It always took some work as a player to sort the interesting from the bad, but it's much harder now without curation.

Finally got around to upgrading to 1password 8 now that they’re discontinuing 7, and they definitely have improved it a bunch from where it was at release. It’s nice to see. The browser plugin is still… slow, though. The perceptible lag from icon click to launch is aggravating.

Baby’s first industry gig, 2007-2008 These were for BioWare’s brief foray into handheld market with Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. Every level was meticulously hand painted.

instead of writing music for 18 musicians, steve reich should have written music for the audience. really hate this gatekeeping attitude from creators :/

If anyone in Canada has been affected by the EA/Bioware announcement and would like to talk about it, email's in my profile. Can discuss on the record/on background etc.

This is probably the #1 most anticipated game on the horizon for me. Absolutely don't sleep on this, it's a delight. 100% must-play.

[imsim audio log voice] You nincompoops keep forgetting the key code to the storage room, so I’ve changed it to something you can’t forget: 4. That‘s right... 4! If you run out of ammo during tomorrow’s training exercise, you only have yourselves to blame! 4, got it??

Was digging out my old Asuka 120% files, and I completely forgot I did the name tiles in Pixel for Mac. Was funny realizing I had nothing installed that could open the files.

Went on a wild goose chase: remembered a particular broken chiptune player I really liked from way back when, but couldn't figure out what it was. But I found it! And I've got a recording of the broken-down chiptune of my dreams for you: www.mistys-internet.website/blog/blog/20...

Really enjoying the iPod’s album shuffle, but it definitely is reminding me just how *much* it’s got to shuffle! Actually pretty impressive the shuffle doesn’t take too long

Thanks to a couple people for helping, I’ve found the answer. This is actually about Spotlight, and the setting it was telling me about is in the Spotlight settings. The help text turns out to have been completely misleading and pointed me at the wrong place in the setting.

Hey Mac users: I noticed that on macOS 27 the cmd+ctrl+D look up shortcut popped up an info message telling me about new customized content settings I should look at in settings, but… I can’t find the settings anywhere, and the message no longer appears! anyone know what this is?

Honestly kind of remarkable how quickly I've gotten exhausted by Steam next fests. They happen so often now it feels hard to pay full attention to them anymore.

This is a way for Disney to buy the company without really buying the company, so they can avoid antitrust. It also gets them out of inheriting the active lawsuits. Character ai has been through this once already - what’s left is kind of a shell after Google hired key employees & licensed their tech

This “reverse acqui-hire” has become very common with AI companies in the US, because companies currently believe it’s a way to effectively acquire a company without dealing with antitrust. It gets you the important employees and a license to their tech without *technically* acquiring the company.

I suppose this is me looking a gift horse in the mouth, but iTerm updates *so* often now it’s genuinely disruptive. I don’t want to get prompted to upgrade and restart all my terminal sessions every few days, haha. Wonder if I should just look at Terminal dot app again and see if it’s good enough.
