Election night, live. When polls close in Israel on Tuesday, Jonathan Freedland goes live on YouTube to talk about the exit polls, what they mean, and who can actually build a government. He's joined by Matti Friedman, Ruth Margalit and Anshel Pfeffer. youtube.com/live/EUhNvry...

🚨BREAKING: We have moved for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction enjoining Trump from continuing to unconstitutionally impose themselves upon election administration procedures that the Constitution and federal law assign to the States.

Israel is just 2 days away from a critical election, and thousands of protesters are filling the streets of Tel Aviv demanding Netanyahu’s removal! They’re demanding accountability for October 7 security failures and an independent commission of inquiry.

Americans are relearning the lesson we learned during the Gilded Age of the late 1890s, when robber barons ran the government and the economy for their own benefit: Oligarchy is incompatible with the common good. I'm hopeful we'll respond with a new progressive movement.

Elon Musk has spent at least $276 million since July to boost Republican candidates, a record-breaking sum. That’s just 0.028% of his total net worth. Oligarchs can rig the system at the expense of everyone else, and only spend pennies doing so. We must get Big Money out of politics.

I honestly don’t know how folks in Maine are supposed to afford to heat their homes this winter. Donald Trump and Susan Collins owe them an answer. Their war in Iran is making life even more expensive for people already struggling to get by.

Important: the USPS rule that SCOTUS blocked tonight was Trump’s big plan to control and restrict mail voting. But a separate policy remains in place: USPS is no longer postmarking mail as soon it gets it, which is hugely important for deadlines. So people must mail back with plenty of time.

boltsmag.orgIn an Intense Election Year, New Post Office Rules Could Trip Up Voter Registration - BoltsA change in how mail is postmarked could lead some voters to miss key deadlines, including voter registration. Advocates worry the people most affected will be those already facing voting barriers.

Trump is trying to destroy Head Start—and he's hoping you won't notice. He's gutting basic standards & protections for over 700,000 kids, after he already tried and failed to defund the program altogether. We need to speak up and SAVE Head Start.

NEW: Voters have rejected Republicans' scheme to unseat the Kansas Supreme Court's Dem-appointed majority and overturn abortion rights. Amendment 1 would have let the GOP replace the system of a nominating commission, gubernatorial appointment, and retention elections with direct partisan elections

POCAN: I think the problem is you're talking to rich people. Maybe this will help. Who pays tariffs? LOEFFLER: 80% of tariffs are paid by foreign countries POCAN: Okay. That would be like me saying I have long flowing red hair. It's complete BS. Small businesses pay tariffs.

Nuclear, shmuclear. It's bad enough these incumbents cling to the office like a walker, well into their dotage. That they would further expect the voting public to be represented by the nearly dead or dead, is preposterous and insulting. SOMEONE needs to demonstrate accountability to constituents.

Pete Buttigieg says his family was effectively swatted — except, instead of calling the cops, someone called Child Protective Services, lied and said Buttigieg had admitted to 'committing unspeakably violent crimes' and that his kids were at risk. The kids are not and were not at risk.

substack.comA Terrible Thing Happened to My FamilyEven in today's climate, there should be one fundamental principle everyone respects: whatever you think about someone in politics, you leave their kids alone.

Run. And win. This appalling story is just one more example of how the spirit of America is being misused by the current administration to undo the United States. Someone needs to cut through this smog, and Pete would be the kind of candidate to do it.
