We tried "everyone is entitled to an opinion" for three straight decades and all we have to show for it is four thousand cases of measles and a death cult running the government. It's time for people who don't know what they're talking about to shut the fuck up.

Somehow I have an English degree and had never read or even knew the plot of East of Eden. Watched the new miniseries and that was devastating, holy shit. Gorgeous cinematography, especially lighting, amazing performances, but so brutal.

Clarence Thomas says the 14th Amendment should be read narrowly because it was written for formerly enslaved people. By that logic, the 2nd Amendment was written for muskets, not AR-15s. Funny how that kind of originalism only shows up when it's convenient.

Back from a fun UK trip. A lowlight: Belfast public transit sucks. The buses, in particular. Had to take a few passes at writing an email for a refund on a bus to Giant's Causeway that didn't show up, to moderate the tone. Because I am still absolutely fuming about it.

Someday I hope to achieve the absolute heights of shameless drama displayed by my dog, begging his heart out and staring a hole through my head so he can go on a walk a full hour before we usually do.

pretty funny in retrospect that QAnon hinged on the idea that powerful elites at the highest levels of government were smart enough to talk in code when sending emails to each other about their despicable crimes

REPORT: Princess Peach’s New Album, “Life of a Toadgirl” Features Track Entitled “Pipe” That Describes Mario’s Penis in Excruciating Detail.

I have Big Thoughts on Silksong, but I'm going to let them marinate. One thing for sure - I don't think this game understands what things are difficult. An area that an NPC specifically warned me not to go to was much easier than the mandatory boss fight in the same zone.

And it's a boss with no rewards, not even an achievement - clearly considered more of a speedbump than a real fight. But it was HARD. And I catch myself not wanting to explore, because I'm so exhausted with dying to random shit and losing my currency (which you need SO MUCH of).

NEW: What went wrong with Dragon Age: The Veilguard? Why was the writing so tonally inconsistent? Why did it feel so shallow? Why were there so few choices? Really, after ten years of turbulence, it was a miracle that anything came out at all. This is the story: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Fear & concern are coded feminine, so they get translated into anger, which feels more tough. Hurt & disappointment are coded feminine, so they get translated into outrage & aggrievement. The simple human need for love & affirmation is coded feminine, so it gets translated into demands & control.

If they won’t show up to town halls, won’t speak up to the president, and won’t defend the most bi-partisan things like air traffic controllers and pediatric cancer research - then all they’re doing is using you for an easy paycheck. America needs bold leadership, not freeloaders.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world. Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

< but the thing about accountability is that to be meaningful it must be specific. What was the harm? To whom? What can we do to address it? Having existed at the same time as something horrible is not harm and we don't owe it to strangers to submit the correct amount of horrified for their review.

What an incredible group of women.
