We noticed a rising interest regarding the use of AI in browsers. To be clear about our position on this: Zen currently is disabling all AI features included in Firefox and will continue to do so.

My kind of deegoogling

Instagram’s “Friend Map” sounds like a fun way for friends to share their location. Unfortunately, Meta thinks your friends include Meta's own employees, advertisers, and cops. Here’s why & how to turn it off 🧵 1/5

AI age checks are expanding across Google, likely analyzing your photos. Ente protects your memories without profiling you

'Meredith,' some guys ask, 'why won't you shove AI into Signal?' Because we love privacy, and we love you, and this shit is predictable and unacceptable. Use Signal ❤️

Why do I love #podcast way more than YouTube videos? Because it is decentralized and an open standard. You dont like this Podcast app? Well, just use another one. You dont want to be censored? Just host it yourself with RSS. Life can be soo good without BigCorp....

#BuyFromEU

TIL—There's a calculator on the cmd-line with `bc`. And you can calculate your text in Neovim by selecting the calculation and sending it to be with `!bc`. Booom, your calculation is now replaced with the result. Thanks, prime!

I used the last days to revamp and re-discovery my bash scripts and I decided to share some of them. Do you have scripts which improve your workflow in the terminal?

wow @zed.dev is damn fast and good. Love that the configuration is so nice and easy

ARCH #Linux USERS You are now safe to update your system, a new patched kernel just came out and the FUSE regression has now been resolved.

I love the decentralization of git. With only one surviving version of the repository (if no shallow clone) you can restore the whole history of the repository. Feels so extremely secure and robust.

It's never too late to start valuing privacy & security, we all started at step 1.

Companies break promises all the time. A self-guaranteeing promise does not require you to trust anyone. Full essay: stephango.com/self-guarantee

Every time I'm having a hard time to motivate myself to work on things I just grab my laptop and move to a different room. It kinda resets my brain 'cause the environment has changed. I heard people recommend to rearrange your furniture from time to time for the same reason.

I think @zed.dev has become my favorite markdown editor. So simple and clean 😍 focus is intense, like never before

True for every developer/creative (and many many more)

Nothing better than watching a Coding Stream on Twitch while writing a boring paper

Wait... that's actually true!

How to manage Bluesky, Mastodon, and Threads all from one free app www.zdnet.com/article/how-... @openvibe.bsky.social

A number of artists and creators have made their home on Bluesky, and we hear their concerns with other platforms training on their data. We do not use any of your content to train generative AI, and have no intention of doing so.

wow @openvibe.bsky.social solves all my criss-cross mastodon/bluesky problems 😀
