If you appreciate what we do and are able to send us a few bucks, it helps us print materials like those stickers that go right back into the community or purchase vests for our marshals. We have not taken a donation in over *two years.* Eventually, those funds are depleted. Our link is below.

Thank you to each and every one of you who came out to The People's Bridge on Sunday. The music, weather, and vibes were immaculate and we demonstrated in real time why this bridge should be dedicated to bikes and pedestrians.

Bike Grid Now believes there is no reason to tear down this bridge. CDOT has determined it is unsafe to resume vehicle traffic, meaning a new bridge will likely need to be built. Build a new bridge and leave this one for pedestrians and bikers.we can't wait on Foundry Park for a 606 connection.
The good folks @bikegridnow.org are sprucing up the Cortland Ave. Bridge in preparation for next Sunday's (10/18, 3-7 p.m.) event. 👇 Whether you think Cortland should be bike/ped only or just want a safe/secure passage for bikes, peds, and the plucky #73 Armitage bus, show up to show your support.

Took a Divvy e-bike from Jeff Park to Montclare on entirely low-stress side streets including a bit of the Roscoe greenway and while I still need to take a Lyft home because Divvy dies at the city limits, it’s really hard to argue against the utility of the bike grid
Yesterday was @bikegridnow.org's annual jamapalooza, celebrating World Car-Free Day, advocating for safer streets, and honoring those killed biking on Chicago streets in 2026.
The "bike bus" idea is simple: Once a week, a group of kids and parents bike to school together.
It's an idea being embraced in neighborhoods around Chicago as a way to socialize and push back against car-centric culture, parents say.
We are going to be cleaning up The People's Bridge™ (Cortland) in advance of the event we are hosting the following week (details on that soon).
We need some help on 10/10:

Painting: We are looking for people that want to be creative
Carpentry: Assembly party, no extensive use of saws

Bluesky ( #bikesky?) we need you. This Thursday, we have a chance to send a message to Chicago politicians that we want safer streets, and we want them now.

Rogers Park & Evanston are next door neighbors, but why's it so difficult to bike between them?
Last week, @bikegridnow.org, @evanstontransit.bsky.social and Sen. Mike Simmons hosted a Tour De Border ride showing the challenges of this area, and some of the routes that could use improvement.
