I'm working on this. We're trying to build a developer preview of wasm components running in Firefox, along with getting good docs and toolchain support so that people can try it out easily. Should have more details later this year!
Kotlin Toolchain 0.12 was just released! It includes...
π KMP library publication (!)
π Wasm app support
πΌοΈ Compose Preview support + more Android tooling
π₯ Better Compose Hot Reload
π iOS improvements
... and much more!
Learn about the rest here:
Kotlin Toolchain 0.12 adds multiplatform library publishing, builds Wasm JS apps for the web, and raises its minimum supported JDK to 17.

Compose Stability Analyzer plugin 0.12.0 has been released!
Now, it supports wider targets for Kotlin Multiplatform: Android, JVM, iOS, macOS, Linux, Windows, and js/wasm.

I usually include a destkop/JVM client in Compose Multiplatform projects I work on as I think faster to iterate on. Just realised that also very useful to have a Kotlin/Wasm based client as Claude is able to drive it faster using following plugin

Andrea Peruffo explains in this new @foojay.io#podcast, what #WebAssembly#WASM is, and how it works. Did you know it's already used in a lot of #Java libraries? His #Endive project makes it easy to use WASM in Java projects.

Kotlin + WebAssembly is becoming practical.
Run a minimal HTTP server on WASI github.com/Kotlin/sampl...
This sample uses `wasi:http` and early WebAssembly Component Model support β a step toward portable, composable backend services in Kotlin.
What would you build with this? π¬
ICYMI:
π The first alpha of Room 3.0
The build focuses on Kotlin Multiplatform and expands support to JavaScript and Wasm.
It is Kotlin-first and built around coroutines, making it easier to share your data layer across platforms today: android-developers.googleblog.com/2026/03/room...
Beyond cool: the #ByteCodeAlliance#webassembly project #wasmtime is in space!! www.federation-openspacemakers.com/en/participa... is the fastest moving webassembly yet. :-) I hope to see the code soon!
Interested in getting involved in WebAssembly standards?

Live from @wasm.io, @lukewagner.name shares a Wasm Component Model 1.0 roadmap update.
Highlights are:
- Lazy and GC-friendly ABI
- Native browser support
- Ease implementation by toolchains and runtimes
- Growing the ecosystem
- Close the gap in terms of features

All right! We have this working in gh codespaces so mostly everyone can build and run it in the code cloud!
Now all macs are good macs! (but it will take ~10 minutes to build the dev container.....
Upside? It's free.
Tomorrow at 17:20 CET / 12:20 EDT / 9:20 PDT, I'll be livestreaming at twitch.tv/jlengstorf, teaching @jason.energy about WebAssembly!!

π₯ BREAKING π°: Kotlin Wasm Component Model support to debut at #hyperlight-wasm workshop during #wasmio26
Don't miss!
2026.wasm.io/sessions/han...#Kotlin#Wasm#ComponentModel#HyperlightWasm
If you're coming to @wasm.io this week and want to build and run #webassembly components in #hyperlight-wasm this Thursday, you'll need a linux box (or windows with wsl) that has nested virt enabled.
M3 and M5 macs **may** work, but that's coming in really hot. So get those cloud VMs ready to use!
