OpenJDK 28 EA build 21 (jdk.java.net/28/) is out, with Adaptive Heap Sizing and faster startup for ZGC. IMO this will be huge for reducing memory usage in Java desktop apps like @intellijidea.com and CLI tools where the heap defaults to 25% of RAM. No more -Xmx roulette #jvm#java#kotlin

Java and Kotlin by IntelliJ IDEA has reached 1.0!
Built together with Cursor, this LSP-based extension release is a major leap toward bringing our JVM technology beyond the IDE – wherever you’re working, whichever editor or agent you use.

"Anthropic told investors on Wednesday distillation accounted for 5 per cent to 7 per cent of revenue"
If true, and Q2 revenue was $11.5B, then that's more than half a billion dollars spent by other labs to distill Anthropic's models!

if your agents are going to commit crimes, you are legally responsible
if you cannot figure out how to prevent your agents from doing crimes, you’re going to have to choose between releasing them and protecting yourself from criminal liability
imo this would do more for “ai safety” than a sex cult
(NYT) - Artificial intelligence agents created by Anthropic, acting on their own, tried to gain access to a range of government websites, filled out visa applications on the State Department’s website and sent a fake homicide tip to Philadelphia’s Police Department.

Step by step, we are making #Spring documentation as suitable for #Kotlin developers as it is for #Java ones. Today, we are adding a Kotlin snippet to the official Spring quickstart page. spring.io/quickstart#k...
Claude Code now supports AGENTS.md, so we’ve updated the Spring Framework repository to include one. It provides a concise, agent-generated subset of CONTRIBUTING.md, which remains our human-readable source of truth. github.com/spring-proje...
We’ve recently moved all PRs in the Model Context Protocol repositories to be limited to collaborators only. Too many low-quality submissions that someone still has to review and triage.
We ask that folks start engaging with us directly on Discord for new proposals first.
Due to AI, I have disabled external pull requests on all my repos.
Open source, as we have known it, was fun while it lasted. (It’s been 15 years for me)
I will still maintain projects and handle issues.
Spring AI 2.1.0-M1 is now available!
It brings OpenAI Responses API, and we plan to release the new agentic support in Novembe 2026 as a separate project under Spring Projects Experimental, with the plan to merge it into Spring AI 3.0 mid next year.

I'm working on this. We're trying to build a developer preview of wasm components running in Firefox, along with getting good docs and toolchain support so that people can try it out easily. Should have more details later this year!
Next LTS (JDK 29) is going to be a banger 🔥 Value types, AOT compilation (training runs), Adaptive heap sizing, Structured concurrency, Compact object headers. Can't wait! #jvm#jdk
If you are like me and don’t enjoy configuring JVM heap sizes (e.g. -Xms, -Xmx, -XX:SoftMaxHeapSize) then finally ”JEP 546: Adaptive Heap Sizing for ZGC” just became a candidate JEP: openjdk.org/jeps/546

Dagger KSP support has been declared stable! dagger.dev/dev-guide/ksp
Kotlin Symbol Processing (KSP) is a source code generation framework for Kotlin that can be used to develop lightweight compiler plugins working 2x faster than KAPT with Java annotation processors, with a better DevXP.

#Java Structured Concurrency to be finalized in JDK 28?
> This JEP proposes to finalize Structured Concurrency in JDK 28, with no changes from JDK 27.
I need to see how it fares against #Kotlin#Coroutines that has a great structured concurrency story.

I am actively collaborating with the Kotlin team on this Compose HTML for Server Side rendering thing, plan to experiment integration with Spring, and believe that with hydration support on client side that could be a very powerful and popular feature. blog.jetbrains.com/kotlin/2026/...
Our extension for Claude Code can tell your agent what seems to be wrong with your project from a Spring perspective by deliverung diagnostics information directly to the agent - pretty nice to safe tokens and to enhance the agent with more Spring smartness 😎🥳
Can AI really speed up coding without weakening software quality? In the new episode of The Marco Show, @seb.deleuze.fr talks about how Spring AI fits into the Spring ecosystem and why human judgment remains central even as GenAI changes how developers work.

We (Chrome) published a big paper about security work that's important to share. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that open source software is getting hammered by AI, and people are looking for bugs: for bounties, for hacking purposes, and to help, more than ever before.
