Hi, I'm Kim. I build dev conferences for a living & I've decided to build a new one. I've spent the past 13 years organising dev events & conferences, most recently Devoxx UK. Between co-running the @virtualjug.bsky.social & volunteering at several other community events. Our next project 🧡

This is extremely helpful. Do this! I won’t read LLM generated stuff - unless I wrote the prompt myself. OTOH, I’ll happily read you! (Also please do this when you submit a PR, rather than blurting out an LLM summary that noone will read)

Need some help getting past the blank page? I beg you, please try this instead of resorting to an LLM first draft. writethatblog.substack.com/p/rubber-duc...

This is pretty cool. (Turning on the Graal-signal πŸ¦‡ @alina-yurenko.bsky.social)

Being an Open Source Contributorβ„’ has long been perceived as a badge of honor. But today, people pointing their LLM at some random issue that they have no interest in, without reading or understanding the output... Some of it gets merged, so what is "I contributed to X" worth anymore?

Y'all are creating a lot of noise, and not doing _any_ of the engineering work. When we say "not like this because <reason>" and get an LLM-generated fix within 5 minutes, what have you learned? Have you furthered your understanding of the project so that the next PR is better?

If you're doing this for credibility, I'm not sure that's going to work long term. Want to contribute? Use the project, test the limits, find bugs, report them, suggest improvements. Show that you've got skin in the game and are ready to put in the work - we'll happily take your contributions :)

⏰ LAST DAY to submit your talk for Devoxx Belgium 2026! Share what you’ve built, learned, solved or explored with the Devoxx community. CFP closes today at 23:59 CEST πŸ‘‰ dvbe26.cfp.dev

JetBrains (behind @intellijidea.com) is such an amazing company for the Java community (and others). In the show they produce, they invite @martinlippert.bsky.social who works on VSCode and Eclipse tooling for Spring - competing solutions! Because perspective matters. Thanks Marco and team πŸ™‡

Are IDEs becoming obsolete? We asked @martinlippert.bsky.social (Spring Tools Lead) how AI, Cursor, and coding agents are changing developer workflows, and what's still irreplaceable. πŸŽ₯ Watch: youtu.be/gUm6DOf1NHI

Monthly reminder that I use IntelliJ at work, and I pay for a personal license too - cheaper than Netflix! You won’t guess which of those brings the most value πŸ™Š

Ohhh, making an attack show only on Windows is clever - visible to most users, invisible to most developers. 😳

Turns out my blog had been hacked after all... And Claude actually helped tremendously to find a solution (after being wroung about its early conclusions though 😬). TY all for your help yesterday! lengrand.fr/my-blog-... #claude #security

Capyvarias OST is out! 🎢πŸ₯³ The game also got a major update => - 2 new languages - all the 7 music tracks are now in the game - the (very much requested) fullscreen feature - keybindings and much more!

I’m getting into clicker games now 😁

Kirani Piebox@kiranipiebox.bsky.social

Today, after 8 months of development, I released my 1st game: Capyvarias! The game is not popular but I'm super luck to have the best friends and community. I got a hype train lvl4 and so many people cheering for me on the release stream. Thank you, really, you are the best πŸ’œ

If you're at Spring IO this week, check out all my colleagues talks. Plus, there's a new batch of Tanzu Cards available... COLLECT THEM ALL OR PERISH AT THE HANDS OF THOSE WHO SUCCEEDED IN THE GRAND COLLECTION! spring.io/blog/2026/04...

The tradeoff security vs features in the age of LLMs is fascinating. Everything moves fast, and you have to deliver to keep up. This creates more attack surface. Meanwhile, security researchers (and attackers) produce a staggering amount of reports, that you MUST carefully review, slowing delivery.

Most of the security advisories I get are not CVEs. But the majority are good questions to ask, and require time and attention to come up with an analysis of what the core of the question is, and whether the current behavior is desirable.
