One minor feature of Preact 11 that we haven't talked about much is the strictly typed aria roles on HTML elements, where possible. In short, `<header role="form">` will now be a type error. Spent quite a bit of time going through the spec docs to build that out, doing our part to make the web more

A few weeks ago I gave a talk saying that "People with LLMs are a threat to communities", and some people found it too extreme. I guess my next edition of that talk will say "People with LLMs are destroying and have destroyed communities". I hope you SWC friends will find a way to recover.

The 9th entry of my "How The Heck?" series is out! 🔒 It's all about how locks work, from ancient Egyptians nailing the design to why the perfect lock doesn't exist. It was a fun rabbit hole to go down, and challenging to get the visuals right.

perthirtysix.comHow The Heck Do Locks Work? (An Interactive Exploration)An interactive exploration of how locks work: from pin tumbler mechanics and shear lines to wrong keys, picking, bumping, and better lock designs.

Turn your website’s loading process into music. Forbes sounds surprisingly good. You could loop it and work to it. A great example of a website where someone clearly thought through every detail. We need more of that in the LLM era. blog.alena.rocks/en/artifacts...

I really need to start doing fewer things at the same time. It’s not healthy, and I’m not really “faster” this way. Been working concurrently on 4 different PRs for days and it’s killing me 💀

Interesting, by modifying the data directly from pds.ls/at://did:plc..., no updates gets propagated to BlueSky nor to EuroSky But if I check "Recreate", the info get propagated. What's better is that my 2 timestamps in the Edit history are 2027 & 2023. But the date of the post is correct: 2026

🙏 @cerema.bsky.social

I had to redo the pull request in github.com/Ayc0/ayc0.gi..., but this is quite scary to see that GitHub is dropping PRs When I'm checking the commits in main, I do not see at all the previous PR: it should have appeared between #303 and #305 (as it was PR #304)

Buying a new domain name with @marque.at is quite easy! The process takes just a few minutes, and they update your BlueSky handle for you That's quite neat 👌

Thank you so much Dominik Dorfmeister & Dan Abramov for your answers! (Not @ you to avoid spamming you) Thanks to your answers, I was able to fact-check myself & to finish this article:

The other day, I was talking to a colleague about how to generate an unique UUIID for a react component instance. I figured it could be a good idea for a blog post. So I decided to write one 😁 ayc0.github.io/posts/consta...

It’s still the same: no semantic guarantee, only a performance improvement, your code should work exactly the same when useMemo is removed. If anything, offscreen rendering (<Activity>) will lead to more memos being thrown away.

The new docs, even say: “React will return the same value again if the dependencies have not changed since the last render” Does it mean that going forward, React will 100% treat dependencies as exact and only re-compute useMemo when they changed, but not otherwise?
