AI will take over the world. It's almost sentient. It's acting like an entitled boomer here which is as close to sentient as I've seen. I demand to speak to the manager.

In the last few weeks i've been bombarded with emails from people who have minor tech support problems. ChatGPT is telling them to email me, writing their emails, and compiling "evidence packets" after convincing them they have stumbled on a major story: www.404media.co/chatgpt-keep...

I live in a rural town and, like, I don't know how to tell you this, but the girls play on the boys team and vice versa all the time because otherwise we don't have enough players for a game and it's literally always fine so stop being weirdos about kids sports and just let trans kids play.

So first Musk said he didn't do it and now becsause it's clear he did do it he has changed his story to he did do it but because of some T&Cs and this time we should absolutely believe him? Oh and the BBC ignored the veiled threat that was absolutely not a threat? www.bbc.com/news/article...

Ai will definitely take over the world. It's definitely at the point it is almost sentient.

Hey everyone, gather around! Elon Musk, the trillionaire defense contractor currently spending >$400m on political campaigns to prop up the party of a deeply unpopular president who launched the Iran War has some thoughts about Ukraine, elites, and money in politics.

The social media team desperately trying to keep up with hiding the posts asking why they haven't pulled Elon Musk's membership. Lol.

In his Daily Mail column today, describing Trump as "toast," Richard Littlejohn mocks the President's attempted annexation of Greenland as being mad, using the phrase "nurse!" Here's what Littlejohn wrote about it when Trump first suggested it

Our neighbours are having networking drinks in their apartment. Yellow facebook (Grindr) is 2 pages of people 0 metres away lol.

Is anyone else having weird issues with trying to correct text when writing alt text in Bluesky? Text writing backwards. Random spacing. Jumping about. I may just give up on alt text if this continues. It doesn't happen on any other apps or any other places.

12. “Musk’s decision to change the course of a war with ‘a seeming flick of a switch,’ taking it upon himself, with or without the complicity of WH officials, to reverse the foreign policy of the US for the benefit of Russia’s president Vladimir Putin, is a stunning assumption of power

On vacation last week I said Glee must be due a reboot by now it's 15 years ago or something since it was a thing and kapow... Seriously America come up with something new.

My doctor in Amsterdam just sent a mail because she is leaving the practice. As usual the Dutch phrasing is confusing for English speakers like me. "Ik ga velen van jullie missen." which I translate as "I am going to miss many of you." I read that as I will not miss most of you.

During the Brexit referendum the Russian bought Farage stoked fears about an EU army. Doesn't seem like such a bad idea now the US is allied with Russia. I wonder why Farage would be stoking fears about it? Anyway the UK should pick a side and I don't think it should be with Russia and the US.

It can't possibly be that every country on earth is re-evaluating its reliance on SpaceX and Musk that has caused the wealthiest man on the planet who gives less to charity than most middle class families to say he will give every kid in the US a share in SpaceX. Surely not.

One last thing about X tonight: noting X has 10x the number of regular users than Bluesky means jack shit when a) a shitload are bots, b) the algorithm boosts right-wing content over everything else so actual engagement there sucks, c) 10 million active accounts is more than enough to hang out with.

This is like a scene from the west wing except there wasn't a script or a team of writers just a man with a clear message to bigots.

All European governments and organisations need to leave X if the kiddie porn wasn't enough surely the supporting Russia over Ukraine is?

This is nothing less than a battlefield intervention by the US in favour of Russia.

⚡️ 'Planned operation' — Zelensky confirms Ukraine's Starlink access not fully restored. Zelensky called the restrictions a "planned operation" targeting Ukraine, noting that Starlink speed limits remain in effect in Ukraine but not in EU countries.

You are quite right Alex I do find anything white supremacists fund lame. It's called having morals quite apart from the fact it just is lame even if someone else did it.

Alex Hern@hern.bsky.social

do think there's a danger of looking at extremely cool shit like a car driving upside down then doing a kickflip before landing, and convincing yourself it's actually lame because the guy funding it is a white supremacist

Iain reposted

Except he didn't fund it, I did, paying a much higher tax rate than the white supremacist. Those thrusters are SpaceX tech for which we—not him—have paid ~$31 billion. I paid for those cold gas thrusters and the software running them, and what I get in exchange is a short video and white supremacy.

Lol ( in french). I thought this was a joke but he's serious apparently.

Without American wine on Canadian shelves, Canadians are also missing out on tens of millions of dollars in tax revenue they would obtain from selling our wine.

Iain reposted

my take on this remains consistent: far more americans are bigoted on this front than I'd like, but transphobia is a luxury belief it's the kind of thing you can get people mad about if and only if they don't have real problems to worry about, and there is no shortage of real problems right now

Fascinating tidbit in this interview with former Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan (R-Beaumont), he says that Texas Republicans anti-transgender ads aren't "resonating." "What Republicans are talking about is just not what the swing voter is really interested in." www.texasmonthly.com/news-politic...

Reading about Musk’s possible interference with Ukrainian operations and donating $300+ million to Republicans in 2026 alone then reading how many people are still buying Teslas is hard to square. There is no reason to buy a Tesla in 2026. Plenty of other great EVs to choose from. #ev
