My finest ever work. I wrote it on a treadmill in a gym, recording each title, as I thought of them, into the notes app.

This is glorious. Its almost indistinguishable from real software ads in magazines back in the 80s. And back then a "best-selling" game might sell 10,000 copies, and be considered a success, compared to millions of sales that gams get today.

You're misreading it. It's Eggy Chuck. Which to spell out the the first joke, it's clearly a rip off of more famous title. As to why there's no number 2, well that's the second joke there.

Pink Floyd The Final Cut text adventure was a work of art. No idea what the hell was going on but for £99 in the 80s it meant something profound I'm sure. A musical meaning of life from interactive fiction Also if you played the game tape backwards the load bleeps did 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road'.

If you enjoyed this, I put the same humour and retro computing obsessions into my new book "81 Jokes For The ZX81". Do pre-order it, out early December in time for Christmas. An ideal gift for you or your ZX81 loving partner. I've put so much love into this. Order now: spelk.press/gb/products/...

I've been meaning to count the jokes in it actually and not got round to it. There's 81 official jokes, that is formal ones with set up lines and punchlines, but there's also bonus jokes like, well, I'm not going to list them, but details in illustrations or absurdities in the outro.

I presume this has already been done "And that was the last one from John Noakes' Fractal Bath in session tonight"

Yeah, if there's a corner to cram a joke in, cram a joke in, was my little game on this absolutely insane rubiks cube of jokes joke.
