Blacksky @blackskyweb.xyz now has its own servers running the network This means they're able to run their own feature development and moderation policies, while still connecting to Bluesky through the shared Atmosphere network! s/o to @rude1.blacksky.team and the blacksky team for amazing work

is it competing? The more adoption of the AT Protocol there is, the better and more sustainable Bluesky as *one* AT Protocol project becomes.

Platform is such a malleable word, you can pretty much tell when a specific thing *is* a platform but calling something a platform doesn’t necessarily tell you anything specific about it!

Is anyone doing anything with DID:WEB or is the network mainly PLC? It's interesting to see an implementation; we looked at it for the COVID certs (with W3C:VC) but it was technically lacking for that use case. For EUDI wallets too IMHO but that is solvable.

Top 15 did:web's — 191 total (47 active, 61 inactive, 50 dormant, 32 deactivated, 1 broken). Yooo, I'm the number #1 did:web now (RIP did:web:sarasoci.al) 👀

I’m using did:web for main now so thank you for continuing to support it and also if you need test subjects please let me know 🙏

webvh support? Like, being able to spin up an alt plc and trust that for your identity feels like a reasonable option and that is basically what webvh is.

Yeah uh, there’s a bunch of people who’ve had their did:web disappear from the Bluesky AppView (not from moderation). Ex: my project account pdsls.dev/at://did:web... It happened after I tried to move it to a new PDS (I made sure to include the old signing keys)

I'm trying to understand how you ensure the full chain-of-trust with DID web; for the EU-DCC we shipped national certs with our apps and provided the trustlists as signed packages. Then a different group tracked all similar lists from other countries. Also validated the connection certs (TLS).

But I'll admit I haven't dived into that much detail into DID:WEB implementations. At least some of the methods don't seem to have that issue (although the entire blockchain thing is a problem).

Ah.... See, I thought this was less of a walled garden in that other instances (like Blacksky) could be brought up and users of Bluesky could I dunno... Elect to follow people from their Bluesky account. Sort of like Mastodon but less chaotically done...
