The US had 1500 troops on Greenland until the end of the Cold War. There were many bases on Greenland. Now they just have 150 troops on there. If Trump was really concerned about the security of 🇬🇱, he had put more US troops on the Island, but he didn’t. It was never defenceless against 🇷🇺 or 🇨🇳.

Yes, Greenland's climate is generally colder than Alaska's, primarily massive ice sheet, higher average elevation, and strong polar air masses, more comparable to Antarctica in coldness, while coastal Alaska experiences some moderation from the Pacific.

My understanding is that Canada may also be sending a small contingent of troops to Greenland to compliment the European troop arrivals too. This, as a "military exercise", but we all know the real reason. I fully support Canada's direct military involvement as Greenland is very close to our home.
