National Guard units are still wandering around DC, and as far as I can tell they do... nothing. But this morning I saw a group of four CamoKids walking down the street, and when they got to the corner they did a little formation, and I just thought it was the funniest thing.

i'm currently re-watching the new doctor who, and just watched "angels take manhattan" last night. i think this is formation is intended to make sure they don't turn their back on any weeping angels.

They are concentrated here in my neighborhood, Dupont Circle, specifically. Why? No one knows. The danger level on the streets here is hysterically low, and they look like utter fools, even though I know most of them don't want to be here.

If they want to put on a show, why not have them march up and down Pennsylvania Avenue, Constitution Avenue, or the Mall, where all the museums are, where there are more tourists (although admittedly fewer diplomats)?

God they must be bored. Still seeing clumps of them at Union Station all the time, which is such a strange spot to patrol. I have yet to witness any trouble there other than the leaky roof. Or maybe the time someone threw up what looked like a quart of tomato soup in the middle of the terminal
